The Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research (ITSMR) is a not-for-profit, university-based research center dedicated to improving highway safety. The Institute offers a variety of services to local, state and national agencies and organizations seeking to reduce motor vehicle crashes, fatalities and injuries. ITSMR is affiliated with the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.

  • Join us for our Vulnerable Road User Safety Panel Presentation at the 2024 Walk, Bike, and Roll Symposium! 🚶♀️ 🚴♂️🛴 ♿ Vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists, and “other rollers”) account for a growing share of roadway fatalities and serious injuries. As such, comprehensive planning and action at multiple levels of government is necessary to provide a safe transportation system that accounts for the needs of all users.
