  • CaregiverCON is a movement of people and organizations who believe that caregivers have waited long enough to feel supported. Our theme this year is "Caregiving is a Team Sport" because for far too many of us it sure doesn't feel like one.

  • We are thrilled to announce Dr. Jean Accius as our new Board Chair. Jean’s journey with our coalition began in 2016 when he discovered us while researching male family caregivers at AARP. Since then, he has been a relentless advocate for our mission. As the President and CEO of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities, Jean brings a wealth of experience in empowering communities to thrive. His commitment to health equity and community building aligns perfectly with our goals. As Jack's Board Chair, Jean’s leadership will be instrumental in helping us strengthen the support networks that caregivers need. Dr. Accius is a leader and innovator in health systems transformation. His work has garnered recognition from Next Avenue, Black Enterprise magazine, and Fast Company. With a strong public policy, business, and health background, Jean is uniquely positioned to lead our coalition to new heights. • Caregiving needs to be a TEAM SPORT, and no one is immune from getting recruited to play this brutal game. So, we invite you to join us on Friday, November 1, 2024, for The Big GIVE to raise funds for caregivers in a way that honors them and what they're going through.

It's happenning!!! We are having our first caregiver conference! Get ready for a half-day of honesty, joy, practical tools, connection, and encouragment. You will walk away refreshed, fed, and ready to face the other 365 days of caregiving this year. It's just the start. Check out our page for CaregiverCONx to learn more. It's FREE. Why are we doing it? We love caregivers, because we are, and have been caregivers, ourselves. So we get it. https://lnkd.in/g5sHDCDk

  • Do you know a family/friend caregiver? Treat them to a night of music, food, drinks, and fun at our Spring Hootenanny featuring jeremy messersmith. It's our way of thanking volunteers and donors while encouraging caregivers of people with life-changing illnesses. Best of all, it's free! Check out Kyle's post for more information and spread the word to show your support. #caregiversupport #jeremymessersmith

  • As Caregivers and Sequel Makers, we have some really rough days (and nights). This is important to remember.

My buddy was in Special Operations for 12 years. He has a mantra I think about often: "Constant forward motion" It doesn't matter: • how you feel • what's happening • what others are doing • the current circumstances • bad luck you may be facing Nothing. When things get difficult, focus on maintaining forward motion. Even if it’s the tiniest step imaginable. I’m feeling this in multiple areas of my life right now, and this little mental tool has helped greatly. Always remember: If you’re reading this, you made it through the last tough time. You’re still here. You'll make it through this one, too. Constant forward motion. ||| If this was helpful, share it with others and follow me Teddy Mitrosilis for more writing. P.S. I write about topics like this in my newsletter. Join 21k+ others here: https://lnkd.in/ggFzzVze
