What a fun memory from our King’s Glove Award ceremony in 2014 when NYIAEE honored Alan Steel for his incredible contributions to the trade show industry. Ten years later we return to the River Pavilion at Javits Center to honor Bruno Giaccio of MetroMultimedia with this year’s King’s Glove Award. We can’t wait to celebrate with the chapter this Thursday! We’ll see you there.

The TCS New York City Marathon Expo opens today. The 50,000 runners competing in this year’s race will come to the Javits Center to pick up their bibs and race day materials – including Javits’ own Pearl Liang! Pearl is running the marathon for the 9th time and, though she joined the Javits legal team in 2023, the Center has always been part of her marathon journey: “Ever since the first year I came to the Javits Center to pick up my bib at the NYC Marathon expo, I remember thinking to myself, ‘I wish I could work here and go behind the scenes.’ Never in a million years would I guess that this would actually happen – just goes to show you, never say never.” Good luck to Pearl and everyone running this weekend!

The Crystal Palace creates a grand entrance for every event that takes place at Javits Center! The soaring 15-story structure is made of steel and glass - creating a welcoming and bright first impression for guests and giving people walking by the opportunity to see what’s happening at the busiest convention center in the United States. Fun fact: all 6,000 panels of glass in the Crystal Palace are made of bird-friendly glass, which has reduced bird collisions at Javits by more than 90%

Congratulations to the WOBI team on another great event at Javits Center. We can't wait to see what you do next year!
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us last week for the 21st edition of the WOBI World Business Forum New York! It has been hugely rewarding to hear from so many attendees and partners about the positive impact that the event had on them. Our hope is that the learnings from the Forum will live on and come to life in organizations around the world. In particular I want to thank the fantastic WOBI team for their hard work in making the Forum possible. Those based in the US, those that traveled in for the event and those supporting from abroad. While the event lasts just two days, it is more than 12 months in the making. On a personal note it was a privilege to be able to lead conversations on the main stage with incredible leaders like Francis Ford Coppola General David H. Petraeus, US Army (Ret.) Angela Ahrendts Amy Edmondson Jon McNeill Anne Chow (She/Her) Gary Hamel Stephen M. R. Covey Ethan Kross Felipe Gomez Modupe Akinola. This is my 19th year with WOBI and these opportunities are ones that I will never take for granted. Creating exceptional event experiences is about much more than logistics—it’s about understanding, adaptability, and relationships. In my conversation with Shane Beardsley, CVP, VP of Guest Experiences and Communications at the Javits Center, one thing stood out: success in the event industry is rooted in consistent customer service and the ability to anticipate diverse audience needs. Shane shared a great takeaway that applies to any industry: you need to be aggressively customer-focused, not reactive. By listening to clients and staying adaptable, you build trust and long-lasting relationships that lead to repeat business. Actionable insight? Start by understanding the unique needs of your customer segments, then empower your teams to consistently deliver on those needs with attention to detail and a relentless focus on service. #CustomerExperience #EventManagement #CXLeadership #BusinessGrowth #ExpertsOfExperience #JavitsCenter #EventPlanning Thanks, Salesforce Customer Success.
