Many don’t know this including Alex Hormozi , Grant Cardone , Gary Vaynerchuk , Ryan Serhant and other sales and marketing gurus; Bob Knakal knows this because I told him. What does he know: That Attorneys can’t make cold calls to prospective clients. It’s prohibited by ethics. Law firms don’t have sales teams because they can’t; it’s against ethics. Yes, if you are an attorney and know someone that needs help with their problem, you are prohibited to call them directly (oral or in writing) and you can’t direct someone else to do the bidding on your behalf. How the hell do we get business: reputation. How do we build reputation: results How do we get results: we get clients How do we get clients: it starts with one client who believes in you, but if you’re good enough you’ll never be referred by them because no one needs to know about their secret weapon. And round and round we go. Try making a sales class for that. We get it; there’s marketing, branding, social, in person networking but that’s all peripheral. Cold calling is king and attorneys can’t do it. This post was inspired by the mountains of posts about how cold calling is the single most greatest thing. In our world it doesn’t exist. Grit. Resilience. Perseverance. That’s what exists.

Some thoughts from our CEO
You know- I’ve been thinking about it. All these secondary note buyers like Rialto Capital and all these other note buyers. What are they buying ? Data? Future cash flow? Acrimony? Pissed off strangers? I say no. It’s none of that. In my opinion- they are the purveyors of the next decade of lender-creditor law and its interpretation, denomination, and thesis. It’s likely that there will be some winners and losers: a gladiators ball. Some good old blunt force trauma litigation. I mean I’m sure they’re not telling their investors that. They’re saying we’ll make a lot of money for you, we have propriety data, this is the best time to invest into cash flow assets. Smh. That’s all peripheral. The lender-creditor relationship is a team work effort. I applaud it. I like it. It’s refreshing. Let’s get it. Let’s see how the law plays out here with the Ucc-9’s, lender liability, borrower liability, guarantor liability. All. The. Liabilities. But what do I know, I’m just a “podcast” lawyer.
