I have recently concluded an operation internship with Janko Hospitality at the Chicago Marriott Naperville! As a first-year student, I was astounded by my experience. Janko Hospitality helped me become more confident in my professional skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership. As an operation intern, I spent my time at the front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, events, and sales. Throughout the weeks, I rotated my time with all the managers. I learned about their specific duties and how they impact the company and the industry. I enjoyed observing my coworkers and learning from their professional customer service skills. My experience has inspired me to continue my hospitality business studies at Michigan State University. The values and skills that I have obtained through this internship have impacted not only my career, but my personal life as well. I am so grateful for this opportunity and all the amazing people who supported me along the way. Thank you, Janko Hospitality! Over the summer I had the amazing opportunity to work with Janko Hospitality at the Rose Hotel and 2 days a week at the corporate office in Chicago, IL. I could not have asked for a better first-year internship experience! Throughout my experience at The Rose Hotel, I gained comprehensive knowledge and a strong foundation in customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving while working as a Front Desk Agent. I deeply appreciate the patience, guidance, and feedback provided by the Rose Team. 🌹 Spending the rest of my time this summer working one-on-one with the HR professionals at the Janko corporate office. During my time at the corporate office, I learned the importance and steps of filing employee incidents. I also extensively worked on the job descriptions for Janko Hospitality. This project grew my expertise in understanding roles in the hospitality business, Legal and Ethical requirements while promoting employment laws and inclusivity, and lastly the importance of job descriptions for recruitment insights. The skills I've acquired while working undoubtedly will benefit me throughout my career, and I am truly grateful for the support and encouragement I received during my time with Janko Hospitality.
