    🌟 Future-Ready Leadership: How to Inspire Learning, Collaboration, and Accountability Time to look over the horizon! The world is moving fast, and we are all at a pivotal time including hospitality and service-based industries. 🔦 There is so much opportunity ahead for those who can advance their teams with new ways of leading.  This was the heart of my conversation with Jay R. Weiser in our 2nd session in Mastering Tomorrow Today series - ◾ Developing and Leading Tomorrow’s Organization, Today. We dove into two more of The Five Leadership Superpowers®: Experienced Learner™ and Accountable Collaborator™. 💡 Why These Superpowers Matter: These two superpowers are the foundation for regaining our competitive edge, boosting retention, driving innovation and results. Two Tensions Leaders Must Navigate: 1. Experience – Learning: Drop approaches that no longer work. Focus on identifying and applying next practices. Curiosity, healthy debate, and diversity of thought fuels innovation. 2. Accountability – Collaboration: Work seamlessly across functions and with ecosystem partners and be accountable as a team to deliver stakeholder outcomes that matter. In a world that’s constantly evolving, the ability to unlearn, relearn, and adapt is the greatest competitive advantage. 🖊 Actionable Tactics for Building a Culture of Learning & Collaboration: · Ask Open-Ended Questions: Instead of rushing to provide solutions, ask, “Can you walk me through what happened and how you approached it?” This helps the team reflect, learn, and grow. · Highlight Team Ideas: Give your team opportunities to share their ideas and best practices with the group. Recognize their contributions and let everyone learn from each other’s successes and challenges. · Encourage Diverse Opinions: Make sure every voice is heard. Foster an environment where differing opinions are welcomed, and robust debates are seen as a path to stronger outcomes. · Build in "Reset" Moments: Take regular pauses to reflect and adjust course as a team. These moments create psychological safety, giving team members the confidence to take risks and experiment. · Lead by Example: Show that you’re also a learner. Admit when you don’t have all the answers, and openly seek input from your team. Modeling this behavior creates a culture of shared accountability and growth. 🚀 To lead into the future, we need leaders who inspire curiosity, cultivate accountability, and create teams that are excited to learn and innovate. This is where the magic happens, and it’s how we will thrive in the face of whatever challenges tomorrow may bring.     ✨ 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 Francesca Gino 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱❓ I recently posted on becoming an Experienced Learner™ and an Accountable Collaborator™, two of The Five Leadership Superpowers™. These Superpowers are the foundation of a future-ready organization that thrives in the turbulence & uncertainty ahead. I am shifting from the “Why” collaboration is necessary to the tactical “how” collaboration can be developed as a core organizational capability. In “Cracking the Code of Sustained Collaboration”, Francesca Gino notes: “... 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙮: 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝.” She shares six training techniques based on studying organizations that have "cracked the code of collaboration" to help leaders/organizations collaborate effectively, learn, and foster a learning culture. These techniques address psychological barriers hindering collaboration, increasing their effectiveness. The six techniques are: 1️⃣ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸. 2️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆. 3️⃣ 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸. 4️⃣ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄. 5️⃣ 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 6️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻-𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Gino explains the "why" and "how" of each technique in a way that is easy to understand and pragmatic. 🫵🏼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲! Notably, these techniques eliminate some of what Bob Sutton and Hayagreeva Rao call “bad friction” that holds organizations back. 🙄Saying this is a learning and development or a human resources issue, is a cop-out. This is the responsibility of all leaders, from the executive team to the front line, and they should be held accountable for it individually and collectively if success is to be achieved. 📢𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘂𝗽!
