Congratulations to the 18 JBS Canada team members who graduated from our Supervisor Development Program! These team members will now be placed in supervisor roles throughout our JBS Canada operations.

Our Louisville, KY, facility had 8 team members graduate from Jefferson Community and Technical College’s leadership class. To celebrate the hard work and dedication of these team members, Louisville hosted a graduation meal and celebration. Congratulations to these team members!

Congratulations to JBS Carriers team member, Daniel Demery, for being named to the National Private Truck Council All-Star team. Daniel was recognized at the NPTC Safety Conference in Orlando, FL. When asked about Daniel’s work ethic, Darrin Taylor, JBS Carriers Director of Regional Sales and Operations stated, “Daniel can proficiently train anyone on every piece of equipment used by drivers throughout the facility. Daniel is always the first to jump in and ready to execute any situation that arises that is not in the normal daily scope.” Congratulations, Daniel, on this great achievement!

In honor of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we would like to thank all JBS Carriers drivers for the time and dedication they have made to our company. To celebrate this week, our terminals are hosting celebration events for all team members. Without our drivers, JBS USA wouldn’t be who we are today!

We are proud to announce our new partnership with GreenGasUSA to produce renewable natural gas (RNG) at several of our processing facilities. By installing GreenGasUSA’s on-site gas upgrading systems, biogas collected from the wastewater streams of JBS facilities will be purified into pipeline-quality RNG, allowing end users to displace fossil fuel usage. The partnership will begin with initial installations at JBS facilities in Grand Island, NE, and Hyrum, UT. “At JBS and Pilgrim’s, we’re committed to reducing the impact of food production by partnering with stakeholders to reduce our carbon footprint. This collaboration with GreenGasUSA is a perfect example of these efforts,” said Wesley Batista Filho, CEO of JBS Foods USA. “This innovative approach takes what was once an unused byproduct of food production and transforms it to offset a significant amount of fossil fuels. This process can be a model for the rest of the industry to follow.” In addition to today’s announcement, JBS has initiated more than 25 projects globally to eliminate, or capture and destroy, methane emissions from organic waste lagoons at JBS facilities since 2019. Many of these projects additionally include the beneficial reuse of the methane to displace fossil fuel use. Examples include converting anaerobic systems to aerobic, thereby eliminating methane emissions; or using the captured biogas to generate renewable electricity; or producing Renewable Natural Gas for pipeline distribution; or other beneficial uses. Last week, Cameron Bruett, Head of Corporate Affairs, participated in a roundtable discussion with Congresswomen Caraveo and other leaders in the Greeley, CO, community. The discussion was held to tackle the issue of affordable housing and the stresses that many Colorado residents are facing with the historically high cost of housing. 

We are proud to announce the launch of our new apprenticeship program that gives 10 high school students enrolled in Greeley-Evans District 6 schools the opportunity to further their education with our company. The program will give students hands-on experiences and in-depth knowledge of the food industry in a professional environment. Nelson Rodriguez, Greeley-Evans District 6 Business and Community Partnerships administrator stated, “Work-based learning is so impactful for students. It’s such a powerful experience when they’re actually able to apply what they’re learning in their classes to the real world. ⚾ It’s a home run for the Cactus, TX, community! ⚾ Today, we held a grand opening of the Cactus Little League fields, where kids and their families will be able to spend time, be active and make memories. Aldo Gallegos, Cactus City Manager stated, “When JBS calls your region home, they go the extra mile to help make the community a special place to live, and JBS Field is a perfect example of our ongoing partnership.
