There’s nothing like the energy of the JCC in the summertime, especially this year when we were thrilled to announce and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our new CEO, Sam Dubrinsky, and her family (one month to go until Sam starts!). Springtime is for Earth Day at the J, autumn for the Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts, and winter for New Year’s resolutions, but summertime is the season of briyut (health of mind, body and spirit), and the JCC is the best place in Indianapolis for people to improve their wellness—physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. By contributing to the JCC, you are helping us change lives and reaffirming our shared m’sirut (commitment) to wellness for all. We’d like to expand the impact of our program offerings and sustain our commitment to providing best-in-class wellness for the whole person, but we need your help in raising $85,000 in this year's Hand in Hand campaign to do so. The Frank family has stepped up to provide matching funds, so every dollar you donate will be matched up to $30,000 through August 31. To take advantage of this match, we hope you will join us with a gift to the Hand in Hand Campaign at https://lnkd.in/gCKYjsfa. Todah rabah, thank you very much, for joining us Hand in Hand and making an impact on our community! #atthej #thisisthej #jccindy #jccindianapolis #fundraising #matchingcampaign #donatenow

"The JCC is definitely a community center (and a diverse one at that). It feels like going back to kindergarten where everybody was your friend! Everyone gets along and enjoys being together." -Lori and Jay Flora, 17-year members There’s nothing like the energy of the JCC in the summertime. Over a summer at the Eskenazi Water Park alone, children grow their swimming abilities and learn life-saving skills in water safety; people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds rejoice in moving their bodies in a safe, accessible space; campers from all over the city form lifelong friendships; and everyone enjoys the liberating feeling of coming together as a community. These moments encapsulate the immeasurable impact of programs and services offered every single day at the JCC. "The JCC has been a home away from home. Dallas has been inspired by the camp counselors so much that he aspires to be a lifeguard and camp counselor when the time comes! Additionally, the camp counselors have always made Dallas feel safe and cared for while at camp. I love the JCC camp principles that are instilled in the campers through all the education, trips, games, songs, and extra-curricular activities" -Marla Neal-Sharpe, Dallas's mom (and 7-year member) There’s nothing like the energy of the JCC in the summertime. In 2020, 1 in 10 people in the U.S. experienced food insecurity. By 2022, that number rose to 1 in 8. While need continues to rise, tools to address that need have diminished. Glick Philanthropies recently granted $3,950,000 to nonprofit organizations, including nearly $1 million to support food access 🥕 🍞 🍎 and basic needs 🍼 🚌 💡. Read the announcement to meet our nonprofit partners, including Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc, Dare to Care Food Bank, Indiana Diaper Bank, Midwest Food Bank, Second Helpings, and many more.

As you may be aware, the JCC CEO Search Committee has spent the last few months conducting a thorough and rigorous search process to identify the best-qualified candidate to lead our JCC as our next CEO. After completing several rounds of interviews with many highly qualified candidates, we are very happy to announce that Sam Dubrinsky will be appointed as our next CEO. Sam currently serves as the CEO of the JCC in Springfield, Massachusetts. Prior to her current position, she has held the positions of Executive Director at the Levite JCC in Birmingham, Alabama and the Director of Community Impact at the Birmingham Jewish Federation. Sam has spent much of her career focused on Jewish communal work and most recently guided the Springfield JCC through the many challenges of Covid-19 immediately followed by a fire at the facility that displaced programs and services for months. Sam's fearless leadership, love of Jewish life, and commitment to the core Jewish values that guide, lead, and direct our JCC are all qualities that make her well-suited for success in her new role as our next CEO. We look forward to welcoming Sam and her family to our organization and community in the coming months and will provide more information as it becomes available. #atthej #thisisthej #jccindy #jccindianapolis
