During Menopause Awareness Month, Kimberley Cairns emphasises the importance of understanding the challenges many women face. She states, "During Menopause Awareness Month, it’s crucial to acknowledge the profound impact menopause can have on body image. Hormonal fluctuations often lead to physical changes that can significantly affect self-esteem. Additionally, symptoms like lethargy and sleep disturbances can contribute to anxiety and depression. To support women holistically, combining aesthetic interventions with psychological pre-screening and ongoing support is essential. This integrated approach addresses both physical and mental health, fostering a sense of well-being. By providing comprehensive care, we can help women navigate menopause with confidence and resilience, ensuring they feel supported throughout this transition." Let’s spread awareness and support! ✨ #MenopauseAwareness #HolisticCare #EmpowerWomen

In light of the tragic news regarding Alice Webb, the first patient in the UK to die from a non-surgical BBL procedure, we want to inform you that the JCCP has been actively involved in seeking the introduction of regulation to restrict such procedures. We have called upon the UK government and upon other Government departments in the United Kingdom to introduce emergency legislation to ensure that invasive procedures, such as liposuction and BBL are performed only by appropriately qualified GMC registered doctors. The JCCP has been working actively with UK professional regulators and with environmental health officers to identify instances when inappropriately trained individuals are advertising and performing what can only be described as surgical procedures on the ‘High Street’. In the wrong hands, these procedures place members of the public at significant risk of harm, injury and potential mortality. We urge all responsible government departments to act immediately to introducing legislation to restrict such practices. We also urge all members of the public to refrain from seeking to receive procedures from any person other than a CQC and GMC regulated Medical healthcare practitioner. #PatientSafety #RegulateCosmeticProcedures #QualifiedCare #JCCP&ME
