Yesterday, Board Members, Board Alumni, staff, and their families gathered at Bryn Mawr Country Club for JCYS's 117th Annual Meeting! The event was filled with heartfelt moments, including: - The installation of the 2024-25 Board of Directors - Inspiring speeches from outgoing Board President Carly Newman and incoming Board President Josh Beren highlighting the accomplishments of the last year and priorities for the coming year - Celebrating JCYS's incredible staff members with 5, 10, and 20-year anniversaries - An insightful agency update from CEO Samantha Jakubowski A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Last week, Debbie Heifitz Porter, Center Director at JCYS Lincoln Square Ravenswood and Mike Swider, Program Coordinator at JCYS Wicker Park, represented JCYS at a town hall held by Jewish United Fund on the future of childcare options in Chicago. They spoke about their work to a room full of local and state representatives, childcare providers, and Jewish communal foundations. They captivated everyone by sharing their voices, their passion for early childhood education (ECE), and their personal stories of universal pre-K's effect on our Chicago centers.
