Today I got to host the TCMA Region VI city managers at Jersey Meadow. It’s always great to network with fellow city managers. We also had a great presentation on cyber security. #selfieswiththecitymanager
About us
Jersey Village’s 7,921 (est.) residents enjoy an exceptional lifestyle and sense of community with ready access to Houston and all its metropolitan amenities. Highway 290, the principal arterial through the community, is a heavily traveled route between Houston and Austin. FM 529 serves as the southern boundary of Jersey Village and the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8) forms the eastern boundary, enabling motorists to reach almost any part of the Houston area quickly. Steady commercial development is occurring along Jones Road. Only 20 minutes away is the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, providing ready air service to national and international destinations. Although primarily single family residential in nature, Jersey Village also hosts a significant commercial presence along Highway 290, Jones Road and FM 529, including several automobile dealers, motels, restaurants and other retail. Public school students attend the campuses of the renowned Cy-Fair ISD, one of the Texas Education Agency’s “Recognized” districts. Two of the district’s campuses, Jersey Village High School and Post Elementary School, are within Jersey Village. Within Harris County, there are exceptional public and private institutions of higher education available from nearby community college programs all the way to nationally recognized professional programs and doctorates in many majors. Jersey Village offers a small town lifestyle and values coupled with ready access to the urban and non-urban attractions of the Houston and Cy-Fair area. Jersey Village’s friendly neighborhoods, churches and community organizations provide a family-oriented environment. Within a short drive, Jersey Village residents can find outlets for almost any shopping, recreational, cultural or athletic taste. The Houston Metropolitan Area also offers one of the most dynamic medical and educational communities in the world. In summary, Jersey Village offers a great environment to live, work and raise a family.

I snapped this #selfieswiththecitymanager at the conclusion of the first Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting. The committee met to go over what a comprehensive plan looks like, how we will involve the community in the process, and more. I'm excited about this process and planning for the future of our city!

Last week we met with our consulting engineers to discuss the Water and Wastewater Master Plan. We had some great conversations about the future needs of our city and the steps we could take to address them. That plan will be presented to the City Council in November. We also got an update on the sanitary sewer televising project, which is currently underway as part of the 2023 Bond Projects. This project is an essential first step in assessing the condition of our sewer collection system and planning for long-term improvements to keep things running smoothly for decades to come. #2023BondProjects #SelfiesWithTheCityManager

This #selfieswiththecitymanager was a few weeks ago when we were making a few final decisions on the convention space at the golf course. Today the building looks a lot different than in this picture. The finishing touches will be going on soon. Stay tuned for announcements as to the official grand opening! I'm looking forward to celebrating that in November with the community!
