In a fireside chat with Patrick Jones from JP Morgan, Nelson discussed key challenges facing copper producers, including declining ore grades, rising capital costs, and environmental concerns. We are excited to welcome a new CEO to Jetti Resources: John Slaven joins us from the 1 October 2024. Mike Outwin, our Co-founder and CEO for a decade, will continue to support the company. John is a highly experienced executive having held senior leadership positions at BHP, Alcoa Corporation, Boston Consulting Group, De Beers and Vedanta. He has been involved at each stage of the mining industry’s value chain from early-stage exploration and project development, to mining, processing, sales and marketing. Excellent article by Bloomberg’s Akshat Rathi on why copper is critical to solving climate change and how much more needs to be done to meet growing demand.   BloombergNEF forecasts that copper use will increase by 4x if the world is to meet the most ambitious climate goals.
