While D.C., another key topic we focused on discussing with representatives was the protection of LIFO. Jewelers of America strongly opposes a repeal of the last-in, first-out (LIFO) inventory accounting method, which is considered an attractive revenue-raising option by lawmakers. Repeal would deal a potentially fatal blow to companies in the jewelry industry that use LIFO. The JA Key Ask: Oppose repeal of the last-in, first-out (LIFO) inventory accounting method. Any possible revenue benefits that would accrue from repeal would be far. #JeweleryIndustry
