A brilliant businessman, Bernie touched the lives of myself and countless Jews and non-Jews alike with his incredible commitment to targeted philanthropy and making a positive difference in the world. Bernie was an ardent supporter of the Jewish Future Promise from the very start, and we were always honored to hear his perspectives as a board member. He spoke often about how tzedakah gave him great joy and satisfaction, and how honored he was to be able to enrich the Jewish life of current and future generations. One year after the October 7 massacre, our Olami communities around the world gathered to remember, to mourn, to console, to provide strength, to commit to never again, and to a stronger Jewish future. Many of them, alongside their mentors, learned about the lives of Olami students who were killed, the beautiful traits they embodied and how they could perpetuate their memories. This beautiful initiative is thanks to the Michael and Andrea Leven Family Foundation. May we be able to create light from the darkness.
