Let There Be Light! Yesterday was a perfect day to dedicate this mural, which celebrates significant contributions by Jewish Cincinnatians to the city’s growth and development over the past two centuries. You can experience this mural at 124 W. 9th Street in downtown Cincinnati thanks to ArtWorks Cincinnati and their incredible team, 14 wonderful apprentices, and the vision of artist Jessica Tamar Deutsch. On October 10th, over 50 teens gathered at the Mayerson JCC to remember the lives lost on October 7th. It was an evening full of emotion and reflection. Together, they made chocolate balls in honor of Uriel Baruch, created a "Path to Peace" with rock drawings, and wrote heartfelt letters to soldiers. The teens also tied yellow balloons into an arch, symbolizing hope for the safe return of all those still held hostage. Alon Leichman, the Reds' assistant pitching coach, shared his personal story and led a conversation with the teens centered around their feelings and experiences. Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and take part in this meaningful event.

In response to the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Jewish Federations are working around the clock to provide critical support through our Hurricane Relief Fund. Hurricane Helene has hit the East Coast as a Category 4 storm with winds over 140 mph, storm surges above 20 feet, and heavy rainfall causing severe flooding across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Communities are facing widespread damage, power outages, and displacement. Thousands, including Jewish communities, are in urgent need of aid. Your help is needed now. Donate to the Hurricane Relief Fund to support those affected: https://lnkd.in/gYsx88FK

This morning 10 women in our community came together for October's Helping on Chai program. They spent the morning with Crayons to Computers and worked on sorting educational materials for our students using surplus items like paper, stickers, fabric, etc. Our Women's Philanthropy Helping on Chai program meets once a month and comes together to give their time and energy to support various nonprofits across the city. Every month brings a new opportunity to help those in need. In November we will be volunteering with Queen City Book Bank.
