Celebrating the Power of Education and Opportunity I had the honor of delivering remarks at the Scholarship Celebration hosted by Dean Tomas Gomez-Arias and the CSUSB Jack H. Brown College of Business & Public Administration to celebrate the impactful role of scholarships in shaping the future of students. I shared a message emphasizing that scholarships are much more than financial aid, they are investments in dreams, potential and generational legacies. Reflecting on my own family, I shared the inspiring story of my mom, who was a first-generation Latina college graduate. She earned a scholarship that paved the way for her to pursue radiology school and later, her BS and MS from CSUSB. Her story is a testament to the impact scholarships have, not only on the recipients but on future generations, as they create opportunities. I had the opportunity to have with Juan Sibrian and he shared his inspiring journey as a scholarship recipient. Juan shared his dreams of becoming both an entrepreneur and a professor, driven by a vision to contribute to the community and inspire others. His story, marked by determination and ambition, reminded me of why we champion initiatives that support students and their educational goals. A special thank back you to Zachary Tucker, MPS the CSUSB Jack H. Brown College of Business & Public Administration team, the school’s generous donors and the scholarship recipients for turning this event into an inspiring celebration of achievement, ambition and the creation of lasting legacies!
