Source: (Clinica chimica acta; international journal of clinical chemistry) Developed LC-MS/MS method quantifies 23 TKIs in plasma; evaluated anlotinib trough concentration's relation to toxicities. Analyzed 55 cancer patients, found positive correlation between anlotinib levels (≥17.655 ng/mL) and grade ≥ 3 toxicities. Low platelet counts also linked to higher toxicity risk. Logistic model improved prediction of toxicities using both factors.

About us
The Journal of Mass Spectrometry and Advances in the Clinical Lab (JMSACL, formerly known as Clinical Mass Spectrometry) is an open access journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles addressing mass spectrometry and other advances in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology with a focus on development of diagnostic and related applications, including data science, to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. Translating Pre-Clinical Research to Clinical Patient Care Beyond communication of the application of technologies in the routine clinical diagnostic setting, by publishing critically validated analytical protocols, the journal also addresses the translation of experimental techniques and analytical research into patient care, and the use of these technologies in clinical research and routine patient management. The scope of the journal is not restricted to any particular technology, but covers the entire range of technologies and advancements that are expected to impact the clinical lab. The journal encourages submissions having a clear path to patient care, including basic and translational research, and animal studies.

Source: (European journal of haematology) Developed method for measuring ruxolitinib (RUX) in steroid-refractory GvHD. Analyzed 48 blood samples from 29 patients. Results showed variable plasma concentrations across doses. Non-optimal conditions resulted in lower concentrations. Four non-responding patients had low RUX levels. Validated liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method highlights the need for RUX pharmacokinetics monitoring.

Source: (Journal of bioinformatics and computational biology) 4D-DIA proteomics and machine learning identified biomarkers for psychological stress. Current evaluations are subjective; this study aims for objective measures. Using SVM and SHAP, Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and Fibronectin showed 92% AUC, 86% accuracy, 79% F1 score, and 83% sensitivity, indicating potential in stress detection and prevention of disorders.

Source: (Endocrinology and metabolism (Seoul, Korea)) LC-MS/MS accurately measures plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) and correlates well with radioimmunoassay (RIA) in primary aldosteronism (PA) screening in a Korean population. Study of 127 patients showed a 29.3% mean bias for PAC between methods, with equivalent levels at 11.7 ng/dL (LC-MS/MS) and 15 ng/dL (RIA). Optimal cutoff values for sensitivity and specificity adjustments in PA screening using LC-MS/MS are necessary.
