We envision a community, a nation, and a world in which every person can achieve his or her best health.

About us

We promote equity in health and healthcare for socially at-risk populations through advancing scientific knowledge, educating and training scholars, engaging and partnering with communities, raising public awareness of health inequities, and advocating for changes in clinical practice and policy. The Center is led and founded Dr. Lisa Cooper, James F. Fries Professor of Medicine, and a Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Distinguished Professor. The cross-disciplinary center draws expertise from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the School of Nursing.
