🌼 Daisy Award Recipient: Sydni Bruner 🌼 JMH is proud to recognize Sydni, a compassionate and dedicated nurse who went above and beyond in caring for a patient during her final days in the CCU. Sydni’s tireless commitment to ensuring comfort and peace for both the patient and her family left a lasting impression. The family who nominated Sydni shared, “Our family never saw Sydni sit down in two days. She continually cared for [the patient’s] comfort and needs in multiple ways. She tended to her body position, recalling previous conversations about her bad right hip, and avoided placing her on that side for long periods. She suctioned her mouth during her struggles to get comfortable breathing and provided endless oral care for her dry mouth and pretty teeth, per Sydni’s observation. [The patient] did indeed have a beautiful smile. She explained all medications given and worked tirelessly, trying everything that could possibly help.” Sydni’s care extended beyond medical duties. She helped the family play a church service so the patient could hear the sermon and hymns, and she made sure the grandchildren had precious time to share memories with their “Mamaw.” As the family shared, “When Sydni’s shift ended, she didn’t leave until everything was done, even down to taking out the trash.” JMH is incredibly fortunate to have such a smart, hardworking, and compassionate nurse like Sydni. Her dedication and care exemplify the spirit of the Daisy Award. Congratulations, Sydni!
