As someone incredibly passionate about mental health, there was one priority that I had before leaving the UK, seeing Self Space.
Of course we toured London eye, palaces, Windsor, Richmond, Big Ben, parliament, the parks, museums, ate some amazing food, and everything else you can possibly slam into a week stretch. It was amazing. Such rich history/tradition.
Back to the game changer, Self Space I toured two of their four locations. LOVE what you are doing and the impact your organization is having. Your on demand mental health services is dynamic and game changing. The culture and brand you have built is exceptional. Thank you!
United States mental health providers, you are behind. Imagine the busting side streets of LA, New York, Chicago etc having a space to walk in and simply to talk to someone, right then, in the moment. How you’ve paired technology with brick and mortar to meet your mission is beautiful.
Also, side note, one of your therapists Chance Marshall and Jodie Cariss from Shoreditch spent about an hour with me talking all the things! We had a cup of coffee and chatted about what is normally stigmatized, openly; Youth mental health, depression, technology, anxiety, suicide, overdoses, generational differences, psychiatrist wait times, medications (speed to them) license requirements (US versus UK), diagnosing, stress, workplace mental health AND, she even directed this American chap to the subway so I could find my way back to Richmond.
If you are EVER in London, make sure to check out Self Space. If you aren’t in London, make sure to check out Self Space.
A mental health business that gets “it”. All of it.
Thank you Self Space for making a difference.
