A toxic workplace rarely changes. But it can end up changing you. If you feel drained or anxious before each workday, take a step back and reflect. Your mental health isn’t worth sacrificing for a job that doesn’t value well-being. A healthy work culture is one that empowers you, not one that drains you. Here are 7 red flags that signal a toxic workplace: 🚩 Long Hours = Praise ↳ If working late is the norm, not the exception, it’s a problem. 🚩 Recognition Goes Unnoticed ↳ Your achievements are overlooked or credited to others. 🚩 Constant Drama ↳ Conversations are more about office politics than collaboration. 🚩 Lack of Feedback ↳ Critique is given often, but constructive guidance is rare. 🚩 Blame Game ↳ Mistakes are met with blame, not solutions. 🚩 False Promises ↳ Leaders make promises they never intend to keep. 🚩 High Turnover ↳ People are constantly leaving or “moving on.” 🤔 Remember: A toxic workplace affects more than just your work. It can spill into your personal life, your health, and your self-worth. Choose to work somewhere that aligns with your values and supports your well-being. Because you can’t pour from an empty cup. What’s one toxic trait you’d never tolerate in a workplace? Let me know below! ⬇️ -- Image Credit: Daniel Abrahams. -- ♻ Repost this if you found this insightful! And follow Ford Coleman for more 👊

Stop hiring based only on intelligence. A great team is more than just smart people. It's a blend of skills, character, and attitude that drive performance and foster trust. 8 illustrations that will change how you think: (About embracing your career journey) These visuals were illustrated by Ash Lamb (give him a follow)! They cover 2 mantras which I wish I understood earlier: → The path becomes clear when you begin walking. → The mountain shapes the climber, not the summit. Here are 8 mindset shifts that create lasting change: 1️⃣ Focus on Today's Possible Steps ↳ Small daily actions build lasting achievement. ↳ Progress comes from managing today's tasks well. 2️⃣ Barriers Become Bridges With Perspective ↳ Every obstacle can transform into an opportunity. ↳ New perspectives uncover hidden solutions. 3️⃣ Purpose Powers Progress Forward ↳ Strong reasons drive successful actions. ↳ Your 'why' matters more than your "how". 4️⃣ Your Journey Is Your Own ↳ Everyone's path moves at different speeds. ↳ Compare yourself to yesterday, not others. 5️⃣ Growth Requires Leaving Comfort Behind ↳ Knowledge alone cannot create real change. ↳ Comfort zones limit your true potential. 6️⃣ Knowledge Without Action Limits Growth ↳ Learning is just the first step. ↳ Growth requires leaving your comfort zone. 7️⃣ Choose Struggle Over Surrender ↳ Temporary challenges build lasting strength. ↳ Quitting hurts longer than pushing through. 8️⃣ Today Beats Someday Every Time ↳ Dreams need action to become reality. ↳ Start now instead of waiting for perfect. Which one of these will you take action on today? Let me know below! ⬇ P.S. I'm trying to focus on the fourth one! ♻ Repost this to share these visuals with your network. Great leaders don’t just lead (they also protect) A high-performing team isn’t just built on skills and hard work. It’s built on a safe and supportive environment. Even strong teams can’t thrive if they are dealing with a toxic culture every day. Here are 7 ways leaders shield their teams from toxic behaviors: 1️⃣ Unclear Expectations ↳ Vague roles and goals lead to frustration. ↳ Clear communication keeps everyone aligned. 2️⃣ Fear-Based Decision-Making ↳ Fear-driven decisions prevent risks and innovation. ↳ Encourage bold ideas without fear of being punished. 3️⃣ Lack of Recognition ↳ Without acknowledgment, motivation quickly fades. ↳ Regularly celebrate all team successes, big or small. 4️⃣ Information Hoarding ↳ Holding back vital info limits progress and efficiency. ↳ Prioritize transparency to empower your team. 5️⃣ Constant Interruptions ↳ Endless distractions destroy focus and productivity. ↳ Set boundaries to protect your team's deep work time. 6️⃣ Pointing Fingers ↳ A culture of blame stifles learning and growth. ↳ Focus on solutions, not blame, after mistakes. 7️⃣ Inconsistent Leadership ↳ Inconsistent messaging causes confusion. ↳ Lead with consistency to build trust and ensure clarity. A leader’s job isn’t just about delivering results. It's about creating an environment where people feel safe, supported, and inspired to excel. Did I miss any other toxic traits? If you're looking for the person who will change your life: Look in the mirror. The power to change your life lies within you. Only you can create the future you want. We often lose our power by blaming circumstances or others beyond our control. But here’s the truth: You are in control of more than you think. By recognizing what you can control, you unlock the potential to shape your future. Here are 6 ways to take control and create the life you want: 1️⃣ Own Your Choices ↳ Every decision you make shapes your future. ↳ Take responsibility for the outcomes in your life. 2️⃣ Shift Your Mindset ↳ Reframe challenges as opportunities for growth. ↳ The way you think determines how you experience life. 3️⃣ Stop Waiting for Permission ↳ You don’t need anyone else’s approval to take action. ↳ Trust your instincts and move forward with confidence. 4️⃣ Take Consistent Action ↳ Small, daily steps lead to massive progress over time. ↳ Consistency beats perfection every time. 5️⃣ Embrace Setbacks as Feedback ↳ View failure as a lesson, not a defeat. ↳ Setbacks are simply redirections toward success. 6️⃣ Prioritize Growth ↳ Focus on growth, not comfort. ↳ Surround yourself with people who push you. When you take responsibility for your life, you regain your power. Embrace this mindset, and you'll feel more capable and empowered. What’s one area you're ready to take control of today? Which visual will help you rethink success? Let me know below ⬇ P.S. Earlier this year I went full-time on my business and it’s been challenging to make ends meet. But my personal and professional growth has been wild when looking back on it. 8 Ways to Elevate Your Mindset (On career growth) Career progression is not tied to years at a company. Your attitude is worth so much more. After I helped 1000s find jobs over the past 2 years. People who used these methods got: → Promoted faster. → More responsibility. → More opportunities to grow. In a time of ruthless competition.  These 8 methods will help you separate from the pack: 1️⃣ Learn from a mentor, not alone ↳ Time is everything in life. Learn independently or work with the right person to get there faster. 2️⃣ Build new skills ↳ Read to learn new things, act on them to experience them, and combine the two to build wisdom in them. 3️⃣ Don't force-fit things ↳ If something isn't working don't try and force it. Find something else that fits. 4️⃣ Don't quit  ↳ You only fail at something when you quit, not because you screwed up during the process. 5️⃣ Be inclusive ↳ Life isn't fun when you're doing it alone. Include those around you for a more fruitful experience. 6️⃣ Don't manage, lead ↳ Managing is telling people what to do. Leading is enabling people to do what is needed. 7️⃣ Over-communicate  ↳ Things often get lost in translation. Don't hold back on repeating yourself to ensure alignment. 8️⃣ You can control your future ↳ Sit back and wait to get lucky OR put yourself in the right places to get where you want to go. Showing up and doing the minimum will get you paid. But adopting these mindsets will help you excel. Which career "growth hack" resonates with you?
