About us

If you've searched for a job or had to hire someone recently, you know how broken, depressing, and dysfunctional the process has become. It doesn't have to be this way. It's time we left resumes--and the biases and burdens the carry--in the past. With Jolo, job seekers and job opportunities match based on customized profiles. View, Swipe, Match, Connect. It's that easy. As a candidate, your profile is anonymous and we don't ask for dates for your prior experience, so you don't have to worry about bias. Share your details when you match and connect with an opportunity. With Jolo, you're always in control and you tell your story in your own words. After months of user testing, we are working behind the scenes to launch the job search tool you want and deserve. You know what really bothers us? All these so-called candidate advocates with their empty platitudes and recycled posts who push products only when they have a referral code (i.e., pay to play). They don't have your best interests in mind; they have their own pecuniary interests in mind, all under the guise of being on your side. You don't need social media #influencers who want to profit off your struggles and fears. You need a tool built for you that will actually improve the search process. We're building it. No referral codes needed.

Where are all the candidate advocates? Let's boost candidate confidence by sharing the reality of the struggle. In today's job search market, what should candidates expect as a successful win rate?

Job search is hard, and the process can destroy your confidence. Are you struggling and feeling alone? Well, you definitely are not alone. Everyone struggles. Job search is a sport where a terrible average is a good average. We think anything around a 2% success rate in terms of offers to applications in today's job search world is probably pretty good, but let's find out. It's poll time ⤵ #jobsearch #candidates #linkedinpoll

#Ageism is a sneaky and persistent bugger. When we launch our web app, we will be ageist-free. How do we know? Because our candidate profiles will be anonymous. You'll match with jobs based on your profile settings, and since we don't ask for dates in your work history, no one will know your age. If you're #opentwork, fill out the form at the end of this post to be among the first to know when we launch. Unlike all the people on here trying to sell you services for your job search, Jolo will be free for candidates when we launch. We want everyone to create a profile so everyone can enjoy the search and find a job they'll love. That's how change happens. That's #Jolo. Register --> https://lnkd.in/gY_K3fkk

Host of It Gets Late Early, a show about getting older in Tech | Age Diversity Advocate I Speaker I Moderator I Podcaster I Tech Partnerships | ex-Journalist

Is software actually enabling companies to steer opportunities...away from you? What? 🙃 One of Silicon Valley's least favorite attorneys, Peter Romer-Friedman, says yes, this is happening. With me today on It Gets Late Early are attorney Elizabeth Aniskevich from the AARP Foundation and lawyer Peter Romer-Friedman of his eponymous law firm, two powerhouses in the fight against age discrimination. They shared surprising insights on this pervasive issue that's been hiding in plain sight (or, should we say, in plain algorithms?). We covered everything from sneaky job ad targeting on platforms like Meta to the subtle ways ageism creeps into workplace culture. And the best part? We're not just complaining – we're talking solutions. Today begins a two-part series all about the current landscape of age discrimination at work. We will take a look under the hood of the workplace this week, and on the next episode, you'll learn more about the federal agency that protects our civil rights at work. So, whether you're an experienced tech pro, a relative newbie, or just someone who believes in workplace fairness, this episode is for you. Find it on any pod platform.
