Last month, the second JSS Asia Expert 100 training camp took place at our Asia headquarters in Shanghai. This career development initiative kicked off in May and is designed to cultivate 100 expert-level talents over the next 5-10 years. The program, divided into two key phases – Theoretical Learning and Problem Solving – challenged participants to tackle real operational issues through hands-on workshops. During the graduation ceremony, five teams presented innovative solutions, with the “New Foam Materials for Steering Wheels” team earning special recognition for their impressive contributions. Congratulations to all our Expert 100 graduates for their dedication and creativity. JSS is proud to announce a collaboration with FORCIOT to bring a cutting-edge steering wheel sensor and heater solution to market. This development targets the industrialization of Forciot's innovative thin printed stretchable heater and sensor mats, which will be structurally integrated into various JSS steering wheel models for enhanced sensing and heating functionality. The system is scalable from simple steering wheel heating to advanced hand sensing with multiple sensing zones, opening the door for various use cases beyond traditional capacitive hand sensing. Driven by high customer demand, this solution is a key focus of our R&D efforts and sets the stage for future hands-on classification systems. Together with Forciot, we will also automate the mat-wrapping process, using advanced manufacturing automation to ensure cost efficiency and precision. On September 10th, JSS celebrated Teacher’s Day with a special event at our Asia regional HQ, themed ‘Encountering Great Teachers, Building the Future Together.’ It was a day of appreciation where colleagues voted for their favorite trainers and courses. The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, recognizing the dedication and achievements of our 64 trainers who contributed to nearly 15,000 training hours across 174 diverse courses. Awards were presented to six trainers based on their teaching performance and student feedback. In 2021, over 162,000 children were injured in car crashes—that's more than 445 every day (NHTSA). For #SeatCheckSaturday, JSS is highlighting new research from AAA and the National Safety Council (NSC) on how informed parents and caregivers are about car seat safety. Key findings from the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF) show: 1. Three common mistakes: car seat installation being too loose, not using the tether for forward-facing seats, and harness straps being too loose. 2. Children often move out of car seats too early—25% transition to booster seats too soon, and 90% of those using seat belts should still be in a car seat or booster. 3. As kids grow, fewer parents seek car seat inspections. Rear-facing seats are checked 5x more often, and 78% of forward-facing seats are installed incorrectly. Let’s keep every ride safe!
