Findings from this study reveal that states with larger proportions of racial and ethnic minorities had higher estimated prevalence of cCMV infection, the most common infectious cause of birth defects and the leading non-genetic cause of sensorineural hearing loss in the US, compared to states with larger proportions of White persons.
