JRC’s Rise Internship has come to an end. We had a memorable summer with this talented group of engineers and scientists. They worked hard developing solutions for our government customers in key technology areas. The goal of our Rise program is grow elite thinkers, stretching technical ability while creating solutions to real challenges our government customers are facing. The Rise Class of 2024 exceeded our expectations. The students formed friendships and immersed themselves into mid-west culture here in Indiana this summer, leaving them with an experience we hope they never forget. We wish all of the Rise Students well as they return back to school and or take on new opportunities advancing science and technologies.

Last week JRC attended The 2024 Mentor Protégé Summit. This year’s theme focused on building partnerships and strengthening resiliency. The event was hosted by the Department of Defense Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). JRC had the opportunity to network with other industry partners as well as engage is many conversations supporting the overall growth for small businesses. JRC continues to be a advocate for small opportunities through its official mentor relationships. JRC had the pleasure of attending this year’s event with its protégé Astra Solutions LLC. Thank you Dr. Tony Jimenez, Tony Jimenez, Gayla Suddarth, Mark Sferra, Ron Grignol, and Jeffrey Duncan for supporting this year’s event in person. It was wonderful getting to support the event alongside Shannan Starling, CEO and President of Astra Solutions LLC.

Last week, JRC attended the NDIA-TVC MDA Small Business Programs Conference alongside MDA protégé, Astra Solutions LLC. The conference highlighted presentations from key government leaders. The event offered essential information about opportunities to support requirements in upcoming procurements as well as provide opportunities for matchmaking with MDA Prime Contractors, Government Representatives, and other Small Businesses.

JRC is honored to be named an official small business mentor by the Department of Defense. We recently sat down with our CEO and Founder, Dr. Tony Jimenez, to share his perspective on being a mentor. We also had the pleasure of connecting with Shannan Starling of Astra Solutions LLC to share her experience being mentored by JRC Integrated Systems. JRC’s Rise interns had a fun team building opportunity at Indiana’s local Greene County 4-H Fair, where they competed in The Annual Hog Tied Competion. JRC Rise interns worked together to secure their pig in a muddy terrain. They won the competition for their age bracket. Mid-west culture has become a fun part of JRC’s Rise experience hosted in Crane, Indiana. In addition to contributing to projects supporting our nation’s most challenging goals, genuine friendships and unforgettable memories have been made this summer.
