It's Monday & that means we are sharing another review from one of our happy #candidates who landed a new job in #retail. Here at J Recruiting, we pride ourselves on showing up differently for #candidates to ensure they have a great candidate experience (whether they get the job or not!). It is always so fun to see the feedback come through that shows we're living that mission. Our recruiters, like Cheri, are so well connected to our clients that they're prepared with thorough and professional communication about each job. They know the business of retail and know how to dig much deeper than just work history. It looks like this #candidate noticed Cheri's expertise and we are thrilled they felt their experience was 5 star worthy.  Great job, Cheri Jackman for carrying out our mission with hundreds of candidates each month! #retailrecruiting  #retailjobs

A question for all #retail employers and hiring leaders: Do you know your Acceptance Rate?  Do you know what an Acceptance Rate is? We define acceptance rate as the number of offers accepted divided by the number of offers made. Why does this matter?  When you’re making an offer to a candidate it means you’ve spent a lot of resources and money to find that candidate and complete an interview process. If you’re not measuring how many candidates accept the offer, you could be missing a major opportunity to decrease expenses and increase results. We measure the acceptance rate for each of our clients because as a recruiting partner it is important that if we get quality candidates in front of you, those quality candidates also see your opportunity (and their candidate experience) as one they’d like to be a part of. Check out this case study on a National Retail Client that had an acceptance rate of 52% YTD in their store operations and warehouse roles and the ways we were able to support them in increasing that acceptance rate quickly. Our Approach: ✅ Identified pain points to inform future strategies. ✅ Addressed compensation concerns by clarifying earning potential. ✅ Leveraged benefits and collaborated with HR on selling points. ✅ Enhanced interview experience training for regional leaders. Results: ✅ Acceptance rate improved to 57% in the following quarter, with two consecutive months exceeding 60%.  ✅ Positive feedback from retail leaders on workshop relevance. ✅ Improved understanding of candidate perspective. Check the comment below to read the full case study and how we can help you! #retailrecruiting #interviewtraining #candidateexperience

Ready to ace your next phone interview? How should you prepare differently for a phone interview as compared to an in-person, or even virtual, interview? Phone interviews are typically used earlier in the interview process. For this reason, we find that candidates take them less seriously and at times show up unprepared or not engaged. Make sure you have a quiet place to take that phone interview and prepare just as you would for any other interview. Not sure how to best prep for an interview? We've got you covered! After years of hearing candidates why they didn't get the job, we've developed this course to help you stand out! Whether you're experienced or just starting out, many struggle to shine in interviews. We've compiled the top 5 mistakes made in interviews at all levels and how to not only avoid them but showcase your unique strength in each area. Ready to master your interviews and land that offer? Are you starting a new job soon? Have you ever heard of sending a Thank You note AFTER the job offer? This is common practice after interviews (or it used to be), but why not extend the gesture to show your excitement and engagement once you've accepted? We work with clients all the time to ensure they have a good #preboarding process (the time between an offer and your start date). Today, we want to mention a practice that is a great idea for the candidate during that #preboarding process.  Send a quick note about your excitement! A thank you note signals that you're ready to rock as you approach your first day. Taking an extra five minutes to send one can help solidify a positive relationship with your new employer and demonstrate how you’ll interact with customers and colleagues once you start. Keep that positive first impression rolling. An added bonus? a thank you email also gives you the opportunity to confirm any details about the job offer or start date (where to park, what to wear, should you bring lunch?) This can help avoid any confusion and make sure you’re confident in what to expect.   Check out this informative blog from Indeed we found how to Write a Job Offer Thank-You Letter! https://lnkd.in/gxRe2JU4 #joboffer #thankyouletter #newjob #careeradvice #retailrecruiting #retailjobs

This week’s 5-star review comes from a candidate who got their “dream job” in ... yes, you guessed it - #retail! The review speaks for itself, but we especially love that it mentions that it felt very “simple” and “easy”. When that is called out, you know #candidates are expecting a recruiting process to feel “lengthy and complicated”. Retail leaders, are you partnering with a talent expert to attract top talent? This #candidate discovered their future employer through our #connections. They were able to bypass job boards entirely. This is 90% of the talent we place. They're not actively applying to every job out there. They're busy in their existing job and it takes our relationships and network to get their attention. If you’re looking for top talent in the retail industry - give us a call! We are connected to that talent you’re searching for. Kudos to Cheri Jackman for showing up and living out our mission to create raving fans out of our candidates and clients! #retailrecruiting #retailjobs

While many #recruitingagencies may do transactional business once or twice a year with their #clients, we find so much more value in partnering with our clients for the long haul. We support the majority of our #clients in volume roles all year around and #executivesearch when they need it most. Bing true partners with our clients, allows us to truly know their business. We can represent their employment brand well and speak to candidates about the intricacies of their team and org chart. We have real examples of hiring leaders who have grown from within or innovations that are coming next for their business. We also know how to spot a future employee of theirs from a mile away (even if a role isn't open today). We know what our clients may need 6 months from now and are actively keeping that talent warm and identified for a quick connection when it's needed. Check out our Case Study to learn more about the competitive edge we offer to both #candidates and #clients by partnering for the long haul inside of the retail market. #retailrecruiting  #retailjobs

The #1 reason candidates get turned down? A lack of clear, specific examples. It's not just about saying you're skilled—it's about showing how you've applied those skills to deliver real results. You MUST have clear, concise examples to share. Hypotheticals do not work. If you are asked for a specific example and when you share that example you're using words like "I usually..." or "I would ..." you're doing it wrong. Proof beats puff any day—show your success, don't just talk about it! 📈 What examples do we suggest preparing prior to your interview? There are a few key areas we see clients asking again and again. We're highlighting those in our #candidate emails over the next few weeks. Looking for interview tips like these for better results? Pro Tip for Job Seekers: Share Facts, Not Feelings When you're discussing your current role in a job interview, avoid talking negatively about your situation. Instead, stick to sharing factual details and a little about how you're working through those challenges. 🔍 Why is this important? Employers are looking for candidates who can stay professional and focused, even on the toughest days. Speaking poorly of your current job or leader may raise concerns about your attitude or ability to stay the course on those challenging days. ✨ Focus on where you want to go, not what you're leaving behind! No one wants to feel like you're running away from the hard stuff. Rather, show them that you're running towards what you want next. 📝 Here's how to stay on track: 1. Stay Neutral and Honest: If asked about challenges, be truthful but professional. Try something like, "There have been challenges, but I’ve focused on finding solutions and learning through them." 2. Highlight Your Goals: Instead of dwelling on what you don't like, share your future aspirations: "I'm seeking opportunities that offer growth and align with my passion for leadership." Remember, sharing facts over feelings ensures you maintain a positive and professional image in interviews, making you stand out as a strong candidate. #CareerAdvice #JobSeekerTips #Professionalism #StayPositive #InterviewTips #RetailRecruiting #CareerGoals
