📊How does corporate structure impact long term incentives for CVC Units? 💰The graphs below look at how a CVC units structure (off balance sheet vs. not off balance sheet) impacts what long term incentives are utilized to recruit and retain employees. Thelander data shows a clear connection between the level of independence a CVC firm has from the parent company and what long term incentives (carried interest, corporate stock, shadow/phantom synthetic carry) are utilized. Corporate stock can be a valuable lever for employees because the vesting period is typically three to four years and is paid out every quarter and with additional payouts every quarter after that.
