Exciting Event Alert! We’re excited to announce the 5th annual JA Inspire, a career exploration program for middle and high school students across South Carolina, and we’d love to have your company participate! This year, over 15,000 students are expected to take part, giving you excellent exposure to tomorrow's workforce. JA Inspire combines self-guided or teacher-led lessons and a personalized career assessment with an interactive virtual event. On November 6, 2024, students will enter a virtual conference center, where they can explore company booths, watch executive videos, and discover the diverse career paths available in South Carolina. Your participation saves on the costs and logistics of an in-person career fair, offering a convenient way to connect with thousands of students without the need for travel, set-up, or printed materials. In addition to the live event, JA Inspire will remain accessible for six months, giving students extended opportunities to engage with your company. South Carolina Junior Achievement Volunteer Receives Top National Honor Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina (JA) announced that Tim Vaughn has been chosen from among more than one hundred thousand U.S. volunteers as one of eleven recipients of the organization’s most prestigious national award for volunteerism, the Gold Leadership Award. Junior Achievement’s Gold Leadership Award honors volunteer excellence, presented in recognition of leadership in supporting and expanding JA’s student impact, resources, operational excellence and sustainability. The Gold Leadership Awards honor the recipients’ JA volunteer service during the 2022-23 school year. “Our local business community’s support of JA is critical to achieving our mission, to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy,” said Casey Pash president of Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina. “Tim Vaughn, President and Chief Operating Officer at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is a remarkable example of that spirit of dedication and service to others. In a very real way, he helps South Carolina JA students get the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.” Over the past nine years, Tim has helped Junior Achievement by serving as a volunteer in the classroom, board member, board chairman, and an investor. His contributions have helped lead to a statewide consolidation of Junior Achievement offices, an increase in over 16,000 students in the last 3 years and tripling the net assets of the organization. Tim believes in the boundless possibilities of the work of Junior Achievement here in the Palmetto State. Junior Achievement’s entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness programs are delivered nationwide—typically in classrooms during the school day, by volunteer role models from the local business community.
