Community•Camaraderie•Commitment: 95 Years of JLG Excellence Fighting Human Trafficking & Promoting Economic Mobility
About us
We are an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. The Junior League of Greenville, Inc. engages in initiatives that help women in our community overcome barriers, focusing on Human Trafficking and Economic Mobility. The Nearly New Shop is the Junior League of Greenville’s upscale resale store. Its mission is three-fold: to provide funds that support the many programs and projects of the Junior League of Greenville, Inc.; to provide an outlet for the community to purchase fabulous clothing and household goods at nominal prices; and to serve as a training ground for our members. The Junior League of Greenville, Inc. (JLG) has positively impacted the Greenville community since its inception in 1929. We have been an integral part in contributing to the beginnings of several agencies over the past 80+ years, including the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, Pendleton Place for Children and Families, The Children’s Museum of the Upstate and the Warehouse Theatre. We are a group of nearly 1200 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our Greenville community. The Junior League of Greenville Celebrates "International Find the Good Day" today, September 19, 2024 - Uniting Communities Through Acts of Kindness and Positivity. This special day of unity and compassion aims to spread kindness, uplift others, and inspire positive change across Upstate South Carolina. “Find the Good Day” is an opportunity for individuals, families, and organizations to come together as changemakers and create a ripple effect of positivity throughout our community. It is a day to reflect on the goodness within ourselves and find inspiration in the acts of kindness we've witnessed and participated in throughout the year. The Junior League of Greenville invites everyone to join in the festivities and make a difference on this significant day. Whether it's through a good deed, volunteer initiatives, or simply spreading positivity through kind gestures, every contribution has the power to create lasting change. Through the "Find the Good Day” Initiative we are reminded of the profound impact we can have when we unite with hope and optimism. Together, we can create a brighter, kinder world, one act of goodness at a time. In the spirit of celebration, The Junior League of Greenville encourages participants to take photos and share them on social media. Tag @JLGreenvilleSC and use the hashtags #FindTheGoodDay and #YeahThatJLG to be featured on our platforms. Let's highlight the dedication, passion, and hard work that goes into spreading kindness and positivity. “Find the Good Day” serves as a reminder that acts of goodness can happen every day, and together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of many. Join us today in celebration and let's ignite a chain of positivity that echoes far beyond this special day. Since 1901, our League Members have been volunteering their time and talents to meet important and impactful needs within their communities. Although words can’t fully express our sincere gratitude, this #NationalVolunteerWeek (April 21-27) in the United States, we’d like to thank them for their dedication and selflessness that make our world a better place to live in. None of what we do would be possible without each and every one of our Members.
