Well we made it through yet another hot summer here in the desert climes of Arizona. The 110 degree + daily temperatures have challenged our public transit management day-to-day responsibilities while best serving our transit customers. Many thanks to our professional operations and maintenance staff. Now is the best time to prepare our bus fleets for upcoming seasons. Our consistency in quality service delivery is contingent upon maintenance planning and accountability. This effort involves improvement by standardizing maintenance technician service delivery. Doing so requires assigning standard repair time to each work assignment, assuring that quality assurance inspection of work becomes a shop norm and so much more. This effort consistently results in improved bus availability and reliability. Our bus fleets will look and run better at a lower cost per mile. I have been gradually introducing this concept I developed during my very successful transit career with the assistance of other transit professionals. My website techpro.plus spells out in detail what I have learned and how it applies to public transit fleet maintenance. Not to be confused as a sales pitch but a helpful hand in filling the need of improving public transit. Feel free to view my website and offer your feedback. techpro.plus
