Los Angeles County Courts have launched a new dashboard tracking the court reporter crisis, and the numbers are so stark that one judge is calling the shortage a “constitutional crisis.” Judge Samantha P. Jessner called for an “urgent solution” to a catastrophe that she partially attributed to a ban on the use of electronic recordings in some cases.
