  • JRI had the honor of hosting State Representative Sam Montaño for a meaningful visit where we discussed our extensive work in youth and family services, health programs, and community-based support. Together, we discussed key initiatives such as wraparound support, trauma-informed care, and housing assistance for youth and individuals living with HIV & HCV. It was a great opportunity to showcase our dedicated and diverse team, as well as our commitment to reducing homelessness, promoting health prevention, and fostering workforce readiness. • 🎉 Exciting news! Meet Mike Khorshidianzadeh, a dedicated history teacher with JRI's Victor School program since 2011. Dual-licensed in History and Special Education, Mike's passion for social justice shines through his work with the DEI Committee and History UnErased to ensure accurate LGBTQIA representation in history curricula. This summer, he was selected as a Teach Plus Fellow, where he’s shaping educational policy. This fall, Mike will be presenting at the Mass CUE Annual Conference on "Going Beyond the Headlines in History," showcasing how to use digital archives to enhance historical research. His session will help teachers leverage Massachusetts Libraries and the Library of Congress for deeper insights, going beyond AI searches to provide richer historical context. Proud of Mike and all his impactful work in education! 📚✨ #EducationChampion #HistoryMatters Read More Here: https://lnkd.in/eE-sP8mw

New research presented at the APA symposium by JRI and BU researchers highlights the unique challenges faced by marginalized youth exposed to trauma. Disparities in mental health care for treatment-seeking youth show significant gaps when race, gender, and mental health intersect. Understanding these differences is essential to developing targeted support for youth of color and gender-diverse individuals. Let’s work together to ensure equitable care and healing for all young people. #MentalHealth #YouthSupport #TraumaAwareness #EquityInCare

When we think of families, we include anyone that our clients identify as part of a permanent, lifelong relationship that sustains them. At JRI, we believe that family voices are vital when determining services and treatment. We welcome all families and work closely with them to provide the high-quality trauma services they need.
