We're excited to work with Generac Power Systems and the California Water Association on this project to enhance grid flexibility, improve the resilience of the power system against extreme weather, and ensure California communities have access to affordable, reliable electricity when and where they need it. JVS will provide community workforce development, training and placement services, leveraging our experience and connections with Baywork & IE-Works, to support the project's objectives at water utility sites across California. This project is funded by the Grid Resilience and Partnerships (GRIP) Program, and administered by the Grid Deployment Office | U.S. Department of Energy as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. #WaterCareers #Utilities #USDOE #GeneracPowerSystems #CaliforniaWaterAssociation #JVSBayArea
We were selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to receive a $50 million award to support grid resilience in collaboration with California Water Association. This marks the third time that the Department of Energy has awarded Generac a grant to deploy clean energy solutions. This award distributes industrial batteries to support water utilities and the California electric grid. “We are honored to be selected by the DOE to expand our scope by delivering innovative solutions of clean, resilient and efficient power for California water utilities and it’s grid,” says Aaron Jagdfeld President and CEO.

AI is becoming integrated into more workplaces and industries just as Gen Z is beginning to play a major role in the workforce. Check out the insights about AI, Gen Z, and the workplace that Ourmedia shared from the TECH WEEK by a16z event hosted at our office earlier this month. What do you think Gen Z can do to build thriving careers in the AI-driven workforce? #SFTechWeek #TechWeek #AI #Ourmedia #JVS #JVSBayArea
🌟 Gen Z is entering the workforce at a pivotal moment! 🌟 As AI rapidly transforms industries, it's creating both challenges and unprecedented opportunities. In our recent #SFTechweek event hosted with JVS - Bay Area, we focused on how to empower Gen Z to thrive in an AI-driven world. Here are 5 key insights that emerged: 1️⃣ Gen Z Can Shape AI's Future, Not Just Adapt to It. Gen Z has the power to influence AI development to ensure it aligns with their values and addresses the challenges they care about. This means going beyond learning to use AI tools and actively participating in how those tools are designed and implemented. 2️⃣ Uniquely Human Skills Will Become More Important, Not Less. As AI automates more tasks, human intelligence will still be needed for things AI can't replicate. Gen Z should prioritize skills like critical thinking, complex problem-solving, collaboration in AI-augmented teams, and adaptability with a commitment to continuous learning. 3️⃣ "Technical Skills" Now Includes Understanding AI Concepts, Not Just Coding. Even non-technical roles will increasingly require a basic understanding of AI—its potential, limitations, and ethical implications. This includes evaluating data quality, interpreting AI-generated results, crafting effective prompts, and staying informed on AI ethics. 4️⃣ Be a "First Follower" of AI in Your Field. Being an early adopter of AI within existing roles and organizations shows initiative, provides hands-on learning, and can position Gen Z for leadership as AI becomes more widely adopted. 5️⃣ Look for AI Opportunities Within Jobs, Not Just "AI Jobs." - AI is being integrated across all industries, not just tech fields. Gen Z should explore how AI can enhance work in any career path and identify companies using AI in innovative ways, even if they aren't explicitly tech-focused. A huge thanks to our panelists Gary A. Bolles, Sumari Barnes, Matt Regan, and Dave Toole, as well as all our attendees for their valuable contributions and perspectives! Stay tuned for our upcoming report, where we’ll dive deeper into these insights and share resources to help you apply them in your career and workplace. 💥 #GenZ #AI #FutureofWork #Skills #Innovation
