PRESS RELEASE: K2 Solutions Announces Divestiture of Canine Operations January 10, 2025 K2 Solutions, Inc. (K2) announces the successful divestiture of its Canine Operations business division. This restructuring will allow K2 to align resources more effectively within key areas of business for each entity. K2 will continue to provide services to the United States Defense industry as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business (SDVOSB). K2 is led by majority owner and Chief Executive Officer, Lane Kjellsen, and Chief Operating Officer, Guy Zahn. Jim Lynch and LTG (R) Bennet Sacolick will also continue in their roles as President and Chief Strategy Officer, respectively. The Canine Operations division will move forward as K2 K9 Solutions (K2 K9). It is now owned and operated by former K2 owner and Corporate Secretary, Susan Kjellsen, and is designated as a stand-alone, Woman-Owned, Small Business (WOSB). K2 K9 will continue to be led and managed by General Manager, Tracy Campbell; Director of Operations, Lanie DeLong; Director of Business Development, Mark Holbrook; and Director of Explosives, Chad Smith. The dedicated leaders and management team that have successfully led the Canine Operations division, including canine sales and training; canine support services; canine security services; and explosives sales and training, will remain in place and will continue to focus on delivering industry-leading services to our clients.

Canine Vida was partnered with Person-Borne Explosive Detection Handler Jennifer Fine-Lovin for over 4 years and certified by the International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA). Canine Vida has worked at venues and events nationwide, keeping thousands of people safe. Although Canine Vida would love to continue working, she is glad to be living her best-retired life with her Handler Jennifer. Since retirement, Canine Vida has enjoyed getting her ball without working for it, catching anything that can be thrown, and volunteering at local coffee shops as a patio greeter.
