  • What does an IV ketamine infusion look like? Join our OPS manager John to gain some insight into our process here at Kairos Restorative Medicine. - Individual infusion suites. - Oversized reclining chairs with blankets and pillows. - Full adjustable lighting, including ambient color options. - Optional sleep masks. - Noise cancelling headphones with optional, curated meditative playlists. - Continuous visual and vital sign monitoring throughout the infusion. Once you are comfortable and have set your intentions with our integrative specialist, our clinical staff will begin your infusion. Unfortunately, this is the part we can offer you no insight on. The actual experience differs from person to person and even individually from treatment to treatment. We can clear up one common question, though: No. You will not be asleep. Sleep is not the goal of IV ketamine therapy and is why we use sub-anesthetic doses. You will be conscious and cognizant throughout your experience and our clinical staff will periodically check on you to ensure that you are. Once your infusion has ended, you will remain in the infusion suite as the effects of the ketamine wear off. Once you feel ready to leave and the clinician releases you, you will be ready for your ride home! For your safety, you will need to arrange for transportation home. Remember, our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible and that begins by answering your questions. Do not hesitate to find out more! www.kairoswellness.com #ketaminetherapy #infusiontherapy #ketamineclinicsanantonio

Yes, Koda is a service dog. Yes, he is specially trained. Yes, you can pet him. In the clinic, I answer these three questions on a daily basis - and that's fine! It is always respectful to ask before touching a vested service animal. Koda comes to work with me and is here for the patients as much as for me. This is his work space, too. I am comfortable in my work space. He doesn't sense anxiety, nervousness, or extreme stress from me in this place. But he may sense it from you - and he will respond to that. He will seek attention in order to calm and distract you. He is not an 'emotional support' animal - his service training is very specific to my condition and the physical manifestations of it. His innate drive to comfort and soothe, though, have always been in his nature, so many of our patients do find immense 'emotional support' in his presence. His service is to provide relief, distraction, and calm when he sees my triggers - or whenever he senses it is needed. So, yes. He is a service dog. Yes. He is specifically trained. And yes. You can pet him. He fuc$%ing loves it.

  • Kairos Restorative Medicine is proud to be represented at the 2024 San Antonio Combat PTSD Conference by Christine Workman, PA-C and John Baxter, Operations Manager. As a clinic founded and managed by Veterans, we are supremely aware of the challenges faced by those who struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress. As we continue to seek the most effective ways to offer aid to both Veterans and First-Responders with PTSD, we recognize the importance of events like these and relish the opportunity to engage, educate, and learn. #ptsdawareness #stopveteransuicide #combatptsdconference

  • #PAweek 🎉 🎉 Christine Workman, PA-C is Kairos' Patient Care Specialist and Primary Clinician and has been part of Kairos' journey from its inception. When you come to our clinic you will work with directly with her. You will get to know her, she will get to know you, and you will find a level of personal care, guidance, and understanding that is unmatched. Christine's love of medicine literally runs in the family; her mother is a PA and her sister is a dermatologist. Her sons also want to follow in her footsteps as "firefighter astronaut secret agent doctors" and her husband has even been drafted into the medical administration field as Kairos' Clinic Manager. Christine would love to travel to literally all of the places and spends her free time chasing her sons to and from the seventy-six sports and after school programs they continue to sign up for. We are truly and sincerely thankful to have Christine here in our clinic. #celebratePAweek #physicianassistant #physicianassociate
