Unintentional poisoning ranks as the third leading cause of death for adolescents in the U.S. With a dramatic rise in overdoses, if you have a teen in your household, now is a good time to discuss the risks with them, make sure medications are locked up, expired narcotics are properly disposed of, and you have NARCAN on hand. #InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay

By partnering with local colleges and universities, Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s Student Placement Program provides MA, LPN, RN, and other students with the clinical experience needed for today’s health care industry. Last year, the program hosted more than 1,250 students — with many choosing to apply for full-time roles and further their careers with KP's Northwest region. "I decided to pursue a full-time position at KP because of the amazing staff members that I met during my externship,” says Raylee Dixon, an MA at East Interstate. “I know through the support of KP I can fulfill my nursing career goals and have a lasting impact on my community,” adds Cortney Russell, an RN at Westside Medical Center.
