Months ago, when we developed the idea for the Kaishan Big Dogs, we never imagined we would have to say goodbye to one. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that our dear friend, Erika Blackburn, passed away on Thursday, October 10th. Her passing is a profound loss for us all. She was a fun, generous and kind person everyone will miss. Erika was the longest-tenured employee of Kaishan in the Americas, and her contributions have been invaluable in shaping Kaishan USA today. We are forever grateful for her tireless work, perseverance and indomitable spirit. Her decades-long involvement in the air compressor industry has left a lasting impact on all of us. At the request of Erika's family, we ask that no flowers be sent. Instead, we will be dedicating a tree outside the new part of our facility in 2025, a symbol of Erika's enduring impact on our lives. We hope this will be a fitting tribute to her memory. In the meantime, please keep the Blackburn family in your thoughts during this difficult time. We will miss you, Erika.

Reducing demand is a critical concern for any facility that uses compressed air as a fourth utility, joining water, electricity and gas in supplying its basic needs. Reducing artificial demand cuts cost and energy use, of course, and supports sustainability and reduction of your carbon footprint. It can also lengthen equipment life and improve system efficiency, as long as it doesn’t result in short cycling (because your compressor is oversized for your system). The key is not simply reducing demand but instead making the mind shift to viewing it as a long-term strategy rather than a once-and-done event. So, rather than attempting to win a war against excess demand, you’re recognizing that you’re engaged in a never-ending battle against three key factors that never seem to go away. What once started as a "swift sailing vessel, to carry ten carriage guns, and a proportionable number of swivels, with eighty men, be fitted, with all possible despatch, for a cruise of three months,” has since become the strongest organization of its kind in the world with nearly 350,000 active personnel. Thank you to all the men and women who proudly defend the open seas. Happy 249th birthday, US Navy! #KaishanUSA #happybirthday #navy #semperfortis

HOT OFF THE PRESS. Home-oxygenation systems are becoming the go-to amenity in high-altitude towns such as those in Colorado, where it's not uncommon to reside 1-2 miles above sea level. In these areas, oxygen is less available because as you gain elevation, the atmospheric pressure decreases, meaning there are fewer oxygen molecules per breath of air. So, for luxury home builders and resorts who wish to make their residents more comfortable, pumping in oxygen is a no-brainer. More oxygen within any high-altitude dwelling means less shortness of breath, less headaches and nausea, and ultimately, better sleep. What's powering these systems, you ask? As if you didn't already know! Read more in today's featured article, published late last night. And huge thanks to The Wall Street Journal for the shout-out! Although we don’t technically make air compressors for trucks, our products support the trucking industry in virtually every kind of truck repair shop or service area. In addition, you’ll find our rotary screw air compressors throughout the broader transportation industry, including the automotive industry, aerospace manufacturing, and the railway industry. Most observers wouldn’t immediately think these transportation uses require high-quality air. But they all have painting or powder coating applications where air quality is required. And while the standards for processes like pneumatics or robotics are not as rigid as for painting, these applications are sensitive to moisture and particulates and thus need high-quality compressed air. While many industrial compressor manufacturers seek to improve production, increase efficiency, and lower costs, few can say they are doing so by adding high-quality jobs in the United States. And why can't we do both? We are. Here's to the makers like us, regardless of industry, doing everything possible to keep American craftsmanship where it belongs. Happy Manufacturing Day, everyone, from our crew to yours! #KaishanUSA #KaishanCares #happymanufacturingday #manufacturingday

Air compressors have come a long way since the bellows and primitive devices first used to compress air. In fact, they are now developed with sophisticated technology that precisely machines parts, carefully matches lubricants and filter elements and reaches new heights of air quality, reliability, energy efficiency, equipment life and cost-effectiveness. Unfortunately, many compressed air users are not aware of the advances air compressor manufacturers have made. As a result, they lack some critical information that can help them achieve the highest air quality. We offer four of those key information points in this week's featured blog!
