McKinsey & Company: Top value-generating opportunities for insurers in 2024. Here are 3 callouts about how technology has to play a role: 1) "Businesses should focus on getting back to brilliant basics by capturing growth through leveraging new technology and data and analytics. "There is a real opportunity for companies across the insurance ecosystem—brokers, MGAs, claims services providers, and software providers—to use granular data on segments, geographies, classes, and risks to find the most profitable areas to grow" 2) "Only a third [of insurers] have initial gen AI use cases in production, despite the industry remaining burdened by unstructured data, such as PDFs and documents, and manual tasks across various stages of quoting or binding policies, underwriting, and claims processing." 3) "Leading organizations are distinguishing themselves by implementing bold, end-to-end, domain-level, and enterprise-scale use cases. "And companies can also greatly benefit from optimizing more-traditional technologies and improving data and analytics capabilities." Is your AI strategy actually driving value for your business? If not - or if you're among the two thirds of insurers who are still at the AI drawing board - get in touch to see how Kalepa's Copilot can help you achieve your growth and profitability targets. How do you design software for complex topics, like underwriting? Kalepa's Lead Product Designer Gabriela Ospina recently presented at WaysConf about OOUX and the ORCA method for software research and design. At Kalepa, we focus on what matters to our customers - especially when it comes to product design. For far too long, Underwriters have been stuck working out of clunky software (or worse - their email inbox). By designing software that is purpose-built for the decisions commercial and specialty underwriters make every day, Kalepa's Copilot gives underwriters superpowers. That's why our users call Copilot "an underwriter's dream". We're grateful to have amazing design leaders like Gabriela Ospina on our team, and we're proud she can share the message about better product design practices!
Reflecting on a major milestone I reached last month - giving my first conference talk! 🎤✨ For years, I have been practicing and sharing insights on OOUX and the ORCA method, refining my approach through smaller events. However, standing on the stage at WaysConf and speaking about a topic that I am so passionate about was an incredible experience. My talk explored how these methodologies bring clarity to the chaos of product development. By applying Object-Oriented UX and the ORCA method, I have been able to design intuitive products for various complex domains. This structured approach has allowed me to bridge gaps between research, design, and development, ensuring that the end product not only aligns with user thinking but also drives efficient processes for teams. Achieving this milestone has been a rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work on a larger platform. Looking forward to applying these methods in even more challenging domains ahead, including the exciting work we’re doing to transform the underwriting user experience at Kalepa 🚀

Another Kalepa global offsite for the scrapbook 🇵🇹 We had an amazing week in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing our global team together for a week of focused working sessions and gorgeous adventures. Between the sailing regatta, fado concert, and delicious meals, we made time to share successes from this year and plan for many of the biggest challenges ahead. One other highlight of the week was hearing directly from Kalepa clients. We heard stories about how Copilot makes their lives better, and the team was able to ask questions about how we can continue to build the best underwriting software around. Professional Liability Insurers - The Kalepa team is headed to the Professional Liability Underwriting Society Conference next month to showcase how we help your underwriters make better risk decisions. Will we see you there? Our Copilot software automatically identifies the submissions most likely to bind, flagging all of the critical exposures (like lawsuits, violations, financial challenges, and more), and consolidating the underwriting experience in one place. With guidelines, preference criteria, and portfolio objectives running against every submission, underwriters have full support in making the right risk decision every time. That's how Copilot helps professional lines underwriters get back to producers faster than ever with competitive quotes. And with increased confidence in everything they quote, underwriters can achieve their profitability, growth, and efficiency goals.
