Suffolk Northeast is thrilled to share that our Winthrop Center project was recently awarded a 2024 CMAA New England Mark H. Hasso Project Achievement Award! Winthrop Center stands apart in its category due to its innovative design and impressive scale. It is the largest office building in the world built to stringent Passive House standards, a highly energy-efficient building standard that also promotes indoor comfort. Due to the project’s unique design, Boston saw its first-ever “sky mat,” a horizontal concrete slab meant to alleviate structural stress by evenly supporting and transferring weight downward throughout a building. This project is a striking addition to the Boston skyline and redefines what is possible in sustainable construction.
