African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) Presents the Black American Cinema Virtual Film Festival AAWIC is thrilled to announce the Black American Cinema Virtual Film Festival, a landmark event coinciding with the 2024 Summer Olympics from July 26 to August 11, 2024. This festival will pay tribute to the legendary Josephine Baker, a global icon who paved the way for countless African Americans in the entertainment industry and will honor Alice Coachman, the first Black woman to win an Olympic gold medal in 1948 for the high jump. The festival will showcase a diverse array of global talent, celebrating the achievements and legacies of those who have stood on the shoulders of these trailblazers. Presented in partnership with African American Weekend, this event is made possible through the efforts of the Honorable Mayor Mohamed Gnabaly of L'Île-Saint-Denis, France.
