💭 Some advice that resonated with us at last week’s NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound conference in Berlin: 📣 Listen to, reward & involve loyal fans 📣 Labels have been focusing on playlists to boost streams. It's now time to refocus on who the fans are, and what they need. ↳ Build communities (companies like Kazm and Levellr can help) ↳ Track most engaged listeners (try tools like Spotify bot) ↳ Involve fans in marketing and storytelling ↳ Gamify loyalty to incentivize engagement 🎶 Don’t get your AIs mixed up 🎶 Assistive AI is not generative AI. Music licensing companies like Tracks & Fields are already using assistive AI music search every day. Take the time to understand why. ↳ Audio-based Similarity and Prompt Searches remove limitations of keywords ↳ Prompt Search is made for any brief (”music that could be in a Tarantino movie”) ↳ Stem extraction (around since 2019) works great for vocals 💰 Take advantage of increased budgets 💰 Clients are willing to pay more for music for a wider range of projects. But the volume of tracks and production music companies keeps growing, so you need to evolve. ↳ Invest in being discovered by clients in fresh ways ↳ Find the best, new (but reputable!) tools to help you ↳ Make sure you know and display your full catalog Big thanks to Stephen MacLellan for sharing a rundown of highlights! 🙌
