KBS recently donated 100 backpacks, stuffed with the necessary school supplies for a successful academic year to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast in #OrangeCounty, California. In addition to providing backpacks, the Boys & Girls Club distributed more than 1,000 new books to eager readers and delivered 25-pound food boxes, hygiene kits, and self-care products to 250 families. As KBS looks ahead at the second half of 2024, Charles J. Schreiber Jr., Co-Founder, President, and Chairman, shares his insight and encouraging outlook on the office market and KBS’ consistent portfolio performance: A number of commercial real estate service firms reported improved revenue during the first quarter due to stronger than expected leasing activity. But also noted a continued decline in the sales volume due to high interest rates. They suggest profits exceeded previous expectations due to the boost in office leasing and that this is the first time in six quarters, the US achieved “solid” leasing revenue growth. Firms continued to see strong momentum in April with demand up 20% year-over-year in gateway markets, driven by financial services companies. KBS monitors office building sales across the country, in our target markets. The availability of office buildings for sale continues to grow along with successful closing of sales. During the last two quarters of 2023, it was rare to see new escrow for the sale of office buildings with a low probability of escrows closing. We are encouraged by the improved sale activity, hoping that it continues to improve, which illustrates an increased level of interest from investors and the recognition of the marketability of high-quality office properties. #CommercialRealEstate #KBS #Office #Tenants #Leasing #CREReporting #Investors #CRE #Outlook
