We are pleased to announce our first recorded webcast of the semester! - - - - - Dr. Kerr underscores the significance of a therapist maintaining emotional neutrality when handling two clinical cases. The question arises: Can a therapist stay neutral or objective? When a stressed family member seeks guidance on life's challenges, it's crucial to apply and demonstrate theory in a way that offers them a clearer and more advantageous understanding of human behavior. Objectivity is based on facts, unlike subjectivity. Emotional neutrality is a beneficial mindset that fosters one's own well-being and that of others. Considering the family as an emotional unit, transitioning from cause-and-effect to systems thinking, and examining interaction patterns, assists in understanding human behavior in various situations. It represents a unique method of problem-solving.
