This week on the podcast, Brian and Cory explore the idea of cultivating kingdom ecosystems. We felt pressed to record this random one-off episode after discussing the film "The Biggest Little Farm," a documentary about sustainable farming. This film—all about the significance of biodiversity in restoration—provided so many affirmations that pursuing the smaller way through disciple-making and microchurches is how Jesus will bring the Kingdom in a city to restore the soil. 🎧 on Spotify • https://lnkd.in/eRAMMz9 📺 on YouTube • https://lnkd.in/g6jsAXUP

🥴 Engaging Emotions in Raising Disciple-Makers. In Western disciple-making efforts, we’ve often emphasized the mind—Scripture memorization, reflection, and application—while neglecting the heart. But emotions matter deeply, especially when engaging children. Drawing from Chip Dodd’s insights on emotions, this tool explores how we can better incorporate feelings into discipleship. By understanding and validating emotions like fear, sadness, and guilt, we foster healthier conversations that lead to genuine transformation. This approach invites both parents and children to show up vulnerably, paving the way for true heart change in the process of disciple-making. Life has a way of making us feel hard-pressed on every side, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down—at "the end of our rope." A financial burden, an illness, a death, a relationship struggle, dashed hopes, crushed dreams. Most likely, we have all experienced this "end of my rope" feeling at one time or another in our lives. As we encounter these situations, we grab the "rope of solutions". We hold tight to this rope, doing what we know how to do to make it through - readjust the budget, seek medical help, begin the grieving process, have that hard conversation. God has given us brilliant minds to use as we problem-solve and put things in place to get through hard times.  But before we pick up the rope, there's a face we must seek - the face of Jesus.
