One of the perks of my job at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois? Visiting places like Hanover Park, a village of about 37,000 that straddles two counties (Cook and DuPage!) outside Chicago. I was there yesterday to support the Keeneyville School District's launch of a Fitness Court as part of the National Fitness Campaign's nationwide initiative. These Fitness Courts are pretty cool: an outdoor, free-standing workout center that is accessible to just about anyone. The Village President is Rodney Craig, and he welcomed the roughly 75 people (my guesstimate) who were there for the ribbon cutting for this Fitness Court. That's him in the photo alongside Julie Relihan, the Director of Strategic Operations for Keeneyville School District. Health Care Service Corporation is supporting NFC in all five of our plan states and the Keeneyville Fitness Court is the 17th in Illinois. AND Keeneyville's is the first in the state that's at a school! Thanks, also, to Gabriel Backstrom for being there to welcome everyone.
