Together with Nest, we’re proud to announce the 2024 Heritage Craft Prize winner is Morgan Buckert! Morgan (pictured on the right) is the owner and founder of Morgan Buckert Custom Boots, a custom-made boot company based in Hailey, Idaho. Our runner-up is Shauna White Bear, owner and founder of White Bear Moccasins, an Indigenous-owned company based in Bozeman, Montana. As the winner and runner-up, Morgan and Shauna will receive cash prizes to advance their craft-based businesses. Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott is invested in supporting the next generation of makers, which is why we’re proud to announce we’ve partnered with Nest to present the 2024 Heritage Craft Prize. This award honors the incredible skill and talent of women and non-binary artisans from the western states. Each participant submitted a one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece demonstrating their technical mastery, as well as a thoughtful connection to cultural tradition, with the winner receiving a grant to help advance their craft-based pursuits. At Kendra Scott, we believe in the power of community and supporting those who need it most. That’s why we were honored to host Kendra Gives Back events in Oakbrook, IL, and Austin, TX to support Brian Frank, an Illinois State Trooper who has shown incredible bravery and resilience. In February 2021, Brian’s life changed dramatically when another vehicle crashed into his squad car while he was parked with his emergency lights on, resulting in severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Brian has been undergoing intensive therapy and stem cell treatments in Austin, TX, and is showing encouraging progress. Brian’s wife, Lauren Frank, has a vision to help other families in similar situations. Her dream is to start a foundation that provides affordable, temporary housing for those traveling for essential treatments. To support Brian’s journey and Lauren’s inspiring mission, we were thrilled to donate $2,400 from our Kendra Gives Back events. Brian, a longtime Kendra Scott fan, has gifted Lauren several of our pieces over the years, making our support all the more meaningful. Have a cause near and dear to you? With stop one and two (Alabama and Baylor) down, it's safe to say our "Get Game Day Ready" college tour is off to an amazing start! This campaign seamlessly blends virtual and in-person consumer experiences in new, exciting (and fun!) ways. How our interactive scavenger hunt works: The KS social team posts clues to our Instagram stories, students engage with the content to locate each spot on campus, and those who act quickly receive special prizes to complete their game day OOTD's! We've loved interacting with our Gen Z customers and helping them get game day ready on their campuses. Michigan, we'll see you next!
