I got to visit my friends Scott Whitehead and Haley Cook, CPA at Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing today! The sophistication of the parts they are building is truly exceptional! The only part I could take a picture of was this sample that they made for marketing purposes, showing the sophistication of their additive and subtractive manufacturing processes combined. It’s a rare combination to have both processes under one roof in such a mature state, and their clients love them for it. We had some great conversations about their processes and how they use ProShop ERP to manage all their work flows. To be honest, some of what they do pushes the boundaries of what ProShop can handle really easily. But that’s why I’m visiting them. To intimately learn more about how we can serve them better and the additive industry as a whole. And a big thanks to Scott for being on our client advisory board and being such a great advocate for ProShop.

Today I had the honor of representing Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing at the christening of the USS Idaho (SSN 799). Being able to be a part of a milestone like this in the Virginia Class program amplifies how important it is to strengthen our industrial base for the support of the 1+2+Sustainment effort. It’s a tall task, but our nation’s security depends on it. Congratulations to the countless men and women of General Dynamics Electric Boat and Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of HII for delivering world class deterents to the US Navy. “The main topic of discussion was the possible establishment of a Small Business Investment Fund (SBIF), specifically structured to support AM Forward’s objectives.” IMO: This is absolutely critical to national defense and world peace. The 3d printed parts made at Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing and other small businesses are truly game changing for our military. It’s critical for these companies to scale in capital equipment to make the USA deterrence model real in an evolving landscape.
The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Research & Engineering awarded $1 million, via America Makes, to a project meant to ease adoption of metal #additivemanufacturing in the U.S. aerospace supply chain. Partners ASTRO America, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, and GE will establish a unified set of parameters that will allow small #3Dprinting original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to qualify production.
