Thank you to the NH Tech Alliance for inviting me to share about the impact Kikori Social Emotional Learning is making at your Tech Power Breakfast! It is always a joy to attend and I came away with wonderful new connections (as always!) including Girls at Work, Inc. leader Sarah Papamichael who has a program for girls to use power tools to create with their hands (right in Manchester!). It was wonderful to see a true supporter Phil Kasiecki and NH Tech Alliance extraordinaires, Stephanie Baxter, CMP, Shannon Herrmann and Alex Horton! I also loved learning the story of Tami Lariviere and how they are transforming school nurse and behavioral health leaders' lives through their software! Most important for me was hearing feedback that taking a moment to check in using Kikori activities (Moo Deng Check-in Haley Burns) and getting to connect with others made attendees feel more comfortable, energized and connected. 💓 THAT is #OurWhy! My Growth Zone this year is sharing about the way in which Kikori activities cultivate connections, community and belonging from the rooftops. If you are leading an event and would like community-building from the moment attendees enter the door, please reach out to me! If you're hoping for the same with your children in their schools, I would love to provide you with information to take to your children's principal. #strongertogether #siosi #femalefounder #choosekind #moodeng

  • 🌟 Empowering Students as Self-Regulation Superheroes with Kikori's SEL Calendar 🌟 This September, Kikori is helping students transform into "Self-Regulation Superheroes" by focusing on self-awareness, impulse control, social awareness, and relationship building. Through our daily experiential social-emotional learning (eSEL) activities, students will develop the skills needed to manage their emotions and behaviors effectively. Each week in September is dedicated to a crucial aspect of self-regulation: 🦸♀️ Week 1: Self-Awareness – Recognizing strengths and building a foundation for self-regulation. 🚦 Week 2: Self-Management – Teaching impulse control and mindful decision-making. 🤝 Week 3: Social Awareness – Fostering respect for others to create an inclusive environment. 🎉 Week 4: Relationship Building – Enhancing social engagement and trust within the classroom. By the end of the month, students will have a better understanding of their emotions, improved impulse control, and stronger connections with their peers. Kikori’s activities are aligned with CASEL's SEL standards, 21st Century Skills, and Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that we provide a comprehensive approach to social-emotional learning. Let’s set the stage for a successful and supportive school year! 🚀 Access the SEL Calendar and share it with educators you know to make this the start of a kinder, calmer, more joyful school year! https://lnkd.in/eCfbkVhJ #SocialEmotionalLearning #Education #SelfRegulation #ClassroomManagement #KikoriSEL Check out my blog post https://wix.to/nxzG0AG

  • Hot off the press!!! We are so proud of Lower Yukon School District and the connections and community they cultivated this summer through Kikori Social Emotional Learning's experiential Social Emotional Learning Summer School curriculum. In just four weeks, Lower Yukon School District's Summer School program demonstrated the transformative power of Kikori's experiential social-emotional learning (SEL) approach. Students flourished, attendance surged, and educators embraced innovative teaching methods with fervor. This case study illuminates the profound impact that joy-filled, SEL-focused education can have on student engagement, attendance and academic success. What does the data tell us?  - Attendance figures improved by 50% from the previous year! - Educators reported significant improvements in planning and leading SEL activities. Planning SEL activities became 26% easier, saving an average of 45 minutes per week (a school-wide savings of $10k per month for a staff of 50 educators). - Educators observed a 100% improvement in student outcomes in the areas of engagement, cooperation, empathy and student connectedness, with student engagement rising by 30%. - K-2nd Grade: Demonstrated improvement in 18 out of 20 SEL skills over the four-week period. Significant gains in recognizing their strengths, practicing positive self-talk, utilizing calming tools, learning how to share with others, and resolving conflict. - 3rd-5th Grade: Notable improvements in self-confidence and hopefulness. Enhanced empathy, engagement, and recognition of their strengths, with a 20% improvement in these areas. - Middle School: Remarkable 25% increase in confidence levels. Improvement in 18 out of 20 SEL skills, with over a 20% increase in identifying their strengths, recognizing stressors, respecting classmates, practicing honest and fair collaboration, taking accountability, and resolving conflicts. What do the WORDS of our educators tell us? William Bajczyk, a Middle School Math Teacher at Scammon Bay School, reflected, “I've taught for 30+ years. I would say this year was ONE of the best summer schools ever. My Middle School students loved coming up every day.” Minard Abenojar, a 3rd Grade teacher at Pilot Station School, noted, “Yes, this summer school has been the best one yet! The integration of Kikori activities added a new level of engagement and excitement to our learning environment. Students were actively participating, eager to share, and genuinely enjoying themselves." Mary Bruce, a 3rd grade teacher at Alakanuk School, observed, “The students were involved and interested in the activities. They showed up almost every day. That's what made this fun. Their excitement got me excited.” Our goal at Kikori, with the help of ALL the incredible educators whose activities are part of our program is to bring this joy and love for learning to educators and schools world-wide. If you share this mission, please share our Case Study with others!

THIS is my 'why' ❤️ and PROUDEST announcement to date. When we bring PLAY and JOY to school... - Students WANT to come to school. - Student are ENGAGED and fall in LOVE with learning. - Students learn and PRACTICE real-world SEL skills. - Educators remember WHY they began teaching and ENJOY coming to school and being with their students. I am honored and humbled to share our FIRST Kikori Case Study with you, demonstrating the impact and opportunity that Kikori Social Emotional Learning provides to educators and students. In just four weeks, Lower Yukon School District's Summer School program showcased the transformative power of Kikori's experiential social-emotional learning (SEL) approach. Students flourished and demonstrated significant improvement in SEL skills, attendance surged by 50%, and educators said it was, "The BEST Summer ever!" LYSD Director Lisa Vrvilo said, “Those that dove into Kikori CHANGED classrooms, students and teachers. I had teachers saying that it changed the way I‘m teaching. It’s more hands-on, it’s engaging. Students were EXCITED to come to school in the morning. Teachers used some of the activities in the reading and math classes based on what they were learning from the platform and Kikori. They used more cooperative learning and engagement strategies that they picked up on during SEL time.” Just imagine if this can happen in four weeks... what can happen in a school year? We can't wait to find out with the schools and educators we are working together with this year. • We at Kikori Social Emotional Learning are thankful of the support of J.P. Morgan - your guidance, your time, your energy and your partnership in helping ALL youth build connections, community and belonging. 💙

The #1 reason why this was the BEST meeting…. Beyond the fact that J.P. Morgan has created a network called SEEN with the goal of helping #femalefounders be uplifted in a world where we receive 2% of the financial support available… Beyond the fact that I had three BRILLIANT advisors give me amazing, actionable feedback on exactly how to improve my presentation… … Was that Rita Toth , N'kyla E. and Christian Williams SEE the critical need (Advil NOT a vitamin) to help our students and educators build connection, community and belonging in our schools. They recognize the mental health crisis and burnout, and they see the incredible potential for Kikori Social Emotional Learning’s experiential approach in providing the curriculum and training needed to SAVE this generation. Kikori is not a hack, it’s not a magic pill and it’s not a quick fix. It’s based on research into the power of the human connection - and how joy and overcoming challenges together can fuel a LOVE for learning. Thank you so much to the three of you for meeting with me and providing guidance and support. Please know that what was most important was that you SEE the importance of this movement calculated in more than $ - but rather in what may happen if we don’t invest in our youth, our educatoes and our schools. #thankful #putagirlonit #startuplife #siosi #itmeantsomethingtothatone ⭐️🌊

  • We are seeking a Corporate Sponsor for an incredible school district this summer - please reach out if you are invested in supporting cultivating connections, community and belonging for high-needs students.

View profile for Kendra Bostick, graphic

CEO | PhD Candidate | Bilingual School Social Worker

Dear LinkedIn friends, I am looking for a Corporate Sponsor for a unique Summer Social Emotional Learning program that my company, Kikori Social Emotional Learning is leading this summer. We are working together with a special school district that has many very isolated, rural schools. Their students are experiencing literacy rates in the 2nd percentile as well as mental health needs. Their biggest challenge for their summer program is attendance - which is highly driven by students being motivated to come, experiencing joy and feeling a sense of connection to their classmates and their teachers. Leading Kikori's Summer Spark community-building activities will help students build a sense of connection and (we hope!) motivate them to attend the summer school program, with the goal of cultivating self-confidence in their academic skills and themselves! 🎉 One of the best ways to motivate students is through cooperative goal-setting, for example providing celebrations when all the students work together to achieve a goal. I am supporting each educator in leading these experiences with their students, with the collective goal of attendance. To mirror this for the educators, I would like to use the same methodology to 'gamify' logging Kikori activities within their summer school program. My idea is that for every 500 activities logged, they would all get fun swag that can be used in future team building - processing cards, rubber chickens, debrief balls, cones, webbing (items that go in a 'bag of tricks'). I am looking for a corporate sponsor who would be interested in helping us provide the swag. There are around 100 teachers taking part so I imagine this would be $5k-$10k. This is a very remote district and I honestly think it would inspire the teachers to know that there are others who support them and believe in what they are doing. 💓 A bit about Kikori - we are a Public Benefit Corporation and a social impact enterprise. As part of our social mission, we provide access to Kikori for free to select international nonprofits, including Play For Peace and the Saamarthya Foundation. We are passionate about helping ALL students (and educators!) feel a sense of belonging through experiential Social Emotional Learning activities. Please reach out to me directly if you have any interest in supporting this project and thank you for your consideration. #choosekind #strongertogether
