It's not all doom and gloom for indie film! Lucia Moses highlights the uptick in indie film investors, more big brands participating in film financing, and innovative new distribution models - including Kinema and Blue Harbor Entertainment. The Hollywood Reporter recently published an article on the distribution challenges facing so-called controversial political films. This is part of the larger challenges facing films that don’t have a major streamer or studio behind them. At Kinema, we welcome these challenges, and we champion films with a strong voice and point of view. This is why we're so proud of the shoutout we got in this article from a filmmaker and industry expert we deeply respect! We're providing an excellent launching pad for films that may be polarizing or controversial. It brings these films directly to the people who want to – or need to – see them, and from a distributor’s POV, provides word of mouth for the superfans and influencers who will recommend the film to wider audiences. We have thousands of screening event partners around the world and the network is growing rapidly. Along with Seed&Spark we just released a distribution playbook for filmmakers. We're signing distribution deals with entrepreneurial film creators and theatrical distributors, and are fast becoming an important part of the emerging, hybrid, digitally-driven distribution ecosystem. Join us :)
