The bottom line: The gap between the two still often remains hundreds of dollars apart, and renting generally remains the more affordable choice even based on lower mortgage rates. As part of our series celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, we are excited to recognize a member of our leadership team, Luis Raul Sola Benítez, CPA, CCIM. Luis Raúl has been with Grupo Ferré Rangel (GFR), for nearly 30 years, where he started his tenure as the Director of Internal Audit. Luis Raúl was instrumental in developing the real estate investment strategy for GFR and is now the COO and CFO of GFR’s dedicated real estate investment management subsidiary, Kingbird. Since joining the firm, Luis has been directly involved in the acquisition and asset management of around 20,000 residential units and 1.4 million square feet of commercial real estate, including office, retail, and industrial property types, in 32 U.S. markets and Latin America on behalf of the Ferré Rangel family office and third-party investors. Today, he oversees a team in the U.S. and Puerto Rico that manages our extensive portfolio of over 60 investments across 15 states, and he’s responsible for long-term business and financial planning, among other duties. What Luis Raúl appreciates about the GFR and Kingbird culture is that it provides a collaborative and forward-thinking business environment where there are many opportunities for growth.
